Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji after Sri chakra puja at Toronto, Canada – August 20, 2000

Take ring finger and take a little bit of Kumkum and put it on your throat. It helps Joint pains and ENT problems. Take a small betel leaf and put it in the water in which you bath. Don’t consume it. It gives Shakti. It is good for one bath only. Don’t reuse it.

Today after the Sri Chakra Puja, Lalitha Sahasranama, Sri Chakra Puja and the Paraks were chanted. We had a detailed Puja. So, mother Goddess has manifested in this Kumkum. It is no ordinary event. It is unusual. Mother Goddess has blessed us.

Did you enjoy yesterday’s Bhajans? (People clap) Are you sure? This evening there will be one more miracle. The Healing concert. I heard many did not get admission tickets. Does not matter. Come to the hall and if someone does not show up, you can come inside then. How to use the cassettes and CD of Sri Swamiji? Which one to use for which illness? There is no recommendation. All are good and are for general well being. Before going to bed, listen to it. These albums are not available in shops or markets. The first album “Celestial message” has Brahmopanishad. It is good. The Pancha Tattva Raga Malika was recorded in the birthplace of Swamiji. It has an amazing array of rhythm patterns. Inner healing is most liked by Sri Swamiji. Inner Light is also good. Raga Sagara is a album recorded live in Hyderabad stadium. It took six hours for the people to get in and out. It is a historical event. These albums are very good. The little money that comes from the sales is used for school children. There are twin benefits. You are benefited. School children are benefited. Take these compact discs and present them to your friends. Listening is more useful after sunset. Some instruments have soothing effect. When hearing, you understand and feel the power of the music. So many people who were suffering from sleeplessness were helped and they started to sleep. It also helps those who have swing in moods.

Many say, “I am thinking of my Master”. Don’t remember Him. Remember his sayings. And act as it teaches. Then it is more effective. You act, feel and experience what Guru says. Then, Swamiji is always with you. One hour of Puja ritual and you go to your business. What transformation has it brought in you and your life? Access it periodically. It is very important. More than thinking of Guru and his teachings, following it and implementing it is more important. It brings immense joy when you implement it. It also brings great change in you. It is not necessary to sit for one hour and chant OM for one hour like a duty. It should not be like your other activities of drinking coffee, bathing etc., It should be more meaningful. Fell Swamiji’s presence in your daily life. Feeling is more important than acts. Putting a photo of Swamiji in the frond dash and driving has no meaning if you think bad and sin. Keeping a photo in front and a girl friend in the back will not help. Swamiji should be in your breath. Breath is the Brahma, the Prana. When we involve Swamiji so deeply in your life, then you will not allow bad things to be done by you. You will not permit your body or mind to commit a sin. We should have Vishwas (faith) in our Shwas (breath). So, our Prana is our first Guru. You may have to lie in your business. It does not matter. I remember a story…..

Dharma Vyadha was a butcher. But he still was a devoted person. There was another person by name Kaushik, a great saint. One day the saint was sitting under the tree. A cow was nearby and it passed its stool. The saint got very angry and looked at the cow in anger. The cow got burned because of his penance power. He was happy with his powers. Then he went to a village for Bhiksha and begged for food. He called “:Bhavati Bhikshaam Dehi”. The house lady said “Wait I am serving my sick husband. I will come little later” After a while the lady brought food and gave it to the saint. The Saint looked at her angrily. The house lady smiled and said “O My dear Saint. I am not a cow”. The ego of the saint was humbled and he begged for forgiveness. He asked how she knew about it. She said, “For me my husband is my Guru. I serve him with dedication. I don’t know any Bhagavadgita or Ramayana I only know how to perform my duties.” He begged for teachings. She refused saying she had to serve her husband and suggested that he goes to the butcher next street and get knowledge form him.

Kaushik went to the next street and was horrified to see the butcher go about his business. But still he went to him and asked for teachings. The Dharma Vyadha replied saying “I serve my parents and follow their advice. I don’t sin by my business because I don’t kill the animal. Somebody brings the dead animal and I just cut and sell. I don’t do more business than necessary. Did the next street lady sent you?” Kaushik was shocked as to how the butcher knew all the details. Then he asks how the butcher knew. The butcher smiled and replied. I am a satisfied man. I serve my parents and I work only for them and for their sake. If you go about your business in the rightful manner, you get all these powers.

Don’t use your ego on others. Don’t challenge unnecessarily. Don’t curse your neighbors saying “If my Guru has powers, let him make my neighbor get sick”. This is wrong. Don’t challenge. Pray that she becomes a better person.

Some young medical students asked Swamiji if they sin by cutting dead bodies of frogs and human beings. It is a sensitive Dharma question. In this context, they don’t get any sin. Chant Datta’s name when it is done.

Today you witnessed detailed Sri Chakra Puja. Puja is a science and is not a drama. It is a reality science. When magician does his tricks, the audience is happy temporarily. But when Swamiji does a miracle, you are happy for a long time. I don’t care what you call it, call it a trick or magic or whatever. But some are really helped by it. If you like Swamiji, you must like Swamiji’s acts. You cannot like your husband just because he gives you money. There must be more to the relation. If you like Swamiji, then you should like Padukas, Puja, Bhajans etc., etc., If we want Sadguru, we must learn Sadguru Tattva. Swamiji is like a super market. He has to cater a wide range of people. From intellectuals to the smallest person. If you doubt, you are a fool. If you do not like something, learn to live with it. Swamiji’s mission is like a Vishwa Rupa. There are Ganapati, Hanuman, Devi etc, etc. Don’t question the background of people in the congregation. In Swamiji’s eyes, everyone is a child. I am a doctor. Everyone comes here. Only saints don’t come. Wealthy, politicians, ill, healthy, I must have Sama Bhaava. Don’t question something which you cannot understand. Only Swamiji knows whom to work for and whom not to work for. You can never understand that and you should just follow.

Jaya Guru Datta
