Speeches of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – July 4, 2014 – KSHT, Dallas TX, USA

Speech in the morning

Jaya Guru Datta

Happy Happy Happy Happy American Independence Day!

The American flag has so many stars. How many? 50. What do the stars represent? 50 states. Up in the sky how many stars? Countless. America is controlling 50 states. God is controlling countless states. Our Hanuman is controlling countless stars. We are also different stars. Indian people you ask, which is your star? They will say some star. We now address only 27 stars. In Hanuman’s calculation, countless stars are there. Each star is like a planet. You are belonging to that star. It is your native place. Indians believe in the star system. We respect, recognize and meditate upon our stars. It is our planet. Each human being belongs to a different star, a different planet. The Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Greek, each group follows its own system of stars. Whatever happens in the planet influences our buddhi/ intellect. We are influenced. In the scientific system it is referred to as genes. Our ancestors, forefathers – their qualities we develop in our minds and in our sense organs. We carry the qualities of our ancestors. Including our ancestral inheritance, we mix our own ideas. We get happiness, sorrow, different waves in our lives. That is why we can go and ask some Indian people and ask “what is your gotra?” Some say Siva gotra. A lot of people say Guru gotra. At least we develop our Guru system, guru idea. We are thinking about guru. We keep thinking. There is a story. Powerful energy from Guru. Bee and insect. (A type of bee picks up one small insect and keeps it in a secret spot. It keeps buzzing around it constantly and sometimes pricks it. The insect’s concentration is fully on the bee in fear, excitement and anticipation, and keeps waiting for it to come and buzz. In course of time, the insect grows wings and absorbing the qualities of the bee, flies away in freedom. A story from Sri Datta Darsanam – explaining the Bhramara/Keeta nyayam).

Genes also change. Complete change occurs in heart and mind. That means you can follow your experience, follow Guru’s order, and simply follow with full concentration. You feel the energy and knowledge transfer. You become like that Guru by following Guru. Each story, each example in Datta Darsanam if you go seriously you will understand. It is not just a story. You want more knowledge? Listen to Prakasa Rao’s speeches. It is a research station. Not only studying and explaining. His experience through his study and knowledge, you must gain from. Every week, listen to Prakasa Rao’s speeches. He will give you good knowledge and you will gain Hanuman’s blessings. You will gain a firmer faith in Guru. Your devotion to Guru will get strengthened. He gives many examples. He gathers information from many sources. Not all information is available at one place. Our Puranas are like an ocean. Go deep into the ocean to find different minerals, animals, different types of oil, different precious stones. It is difficult to find. It looks like one big ocean. But there are different parts of the ocean. There are 7 oceans, 7 continents. The different environments, people, culture, animals. What a wonder. Only one ocean. What different parts. Electricity is the same. But different types of equipment. Only one human being. But different shapes, different ideas, different experiences, different personalities. Water is only one water. But different waters. Only one species – human being. But shape, qualities, and characteristics are different. What maya! Animal. But different kinds of animals. It means we are all one. Tat Brahma. Tvam Brahma. Sat Brahma Chit Brahma. Ananda Brahma. So Brahma Ham Brahma. Brahma is one. There is only one Siva. There is only one Brahma. There is only one tree. Different branches, different fruits. One ripe fruit, some ripe, some raw. Some half-eaten by birds. Some stolen by a thief. One falls and a new plant sprouts. This world is a wonder. Difficult to explain. Brahma is our father’s father’s father. The source father. Only one father for all of us. Hanuman, Datta, Rama, Krishna, Mother Goddess, is our Brahma in different shapes. Hanuman is really only one Brahma.

I am very happy. Young children memorized the Shatashloki Ramayana. I did not concentrate on Sri Chakra Puja. Today I am doing my beejakshara mantra and focusing on the children’s chanting of Shatashloki Ramayana. Shatashloki Ramayana is our story. Not Rama’s story. It is our body. Mano buddhi Sita Rama (mind/intellect). Complete Ramayana is in our body. These small kids, without script they are chanting. My tears of joy are coming. I am controlling. Like a computer machine I am pouring water in puja. My complete mind was attracted by these kids. After that I want to just sit in leisure. Then the youth kids are attracting my heart. Then Prakasa Rao is attracting my mind with his speech. Now I want to go back to my Guru Nilayam. Everyone is attracting my mind. I am like a small toy. I have no freedom. I want to go to Guru Nilayam and sleep with the air condiotioner on. For a small duration I come. You attract me. Tamil people come and attract me. Youngsters attract me. Someone in sorrow will appeal for my attention. I am grabbed and pulled from all sides. I am very happy. Puppet show is very happy. All programs are attracting my attention. I like. I am like a toy in the hands of devotees. Guru toy you have got. Play. But also gain benefit. Do not break the toy’s hands and feet. Only if you follow Guru’s instruction, you gain benefit. Otherwise toy breaks. Someone else will come and repair it. No problem.

After Independence Day program, we get nice food. What is evening’s program?

Wonderful library Prakasa Rao has. What is his education? How well he speaks. Had he learned Sanskrit, he would have impressed us even more. No need to listen to anyone else’s lecture. The kind of library that he has, even I do not have. I told Prasad. He said, you yourself are a library.

Sgsbirds.com –sticker, bumper sticker, anywhere you may place.

One bird is very sick. I got news today. I want to give heart operation to two birds in Shuka Vana. Birds will survive I know. This sticker is only one dollar. I will use the money for birds’ surgery. So many bird videos are on YouTube on sgsbirds channel. So many birds are my friends. Especially this Golden conure is my favorite parrot. He was born in Mysore ashrama. He has traveled by car with Appaji to different cities. Someone got a dream and gave it a gold cage. They do not want gold cage. They want to sleep with Appaji, and to be flying freely in Swamiji’s Guru Nilayam. Speaking bird, rare, endangered. Critically endangered. Very few of these birds now in Bolivia and Brazil. The govt. is giving them protection. I will try to protect this species.

Sri Guru Datta

Speech in the evening

Jaya Guru Datta

Veera hanuman ki Jai.

Sri Maha Ganapataye Namaha
Sri Saraswatyai Namaha
Sripada Vallabha
Narasimha Saraswati
Sri Guru Dattatreyaya Namaha

Veera Ganapati dhyana Shloka

Each syllable gives a different meaning. 4 lines give complete history of Ganapati, and how many weapons he wore and why. Many children ask why bow, disc. wheel, axe, rope, snake, flag, shield, sword, mace, goad, trident, leg of a cot, and so on, 16 weapons in 16 hands. Kids ask questions. But there are not really so many. He can choose. Vinayaka is a miracle man. It is a miracle story. Mudgala Purana He helps Siva. Why learn? He dispels our troubles. At the beginning it is explained. 3 heads is symbolic of the 3 principles of Datta. 2 hands wield 16 weapons. Each teaches one principle, and clears one problem. Strange names, such as a cot’s leg. These are used to destroy different demons.
There is some clue, some hint about the connection of this prayer and Swamiji. Those who give the correct answer will get a prize.

(Explanation by Sri Vamsikrishna Ghanapathi: Nowhere is Ganapati described as a warrior. He is a subtle intellectual force. Why is force required? Wind blows, death occurs, fire burns – all due to the power and will of Parabrahman, the Supreme Soul. Ganapati puja removes obstacles. Is it a bait to offer Him prayers? No. The obstacles are not created by Ganapati. Past actions create our problems. The ferocious form of Ganapati with 16 weapons is invoked as required, to enforce his rule.)

Bhajan: Vinayaka

We offer to Swamiji our heart in the form of a fruit; the body in the form of a leaf such as tulasi or Bilva; we offer water which means happy tears. Good friendship with our savior is very important. God is our friend, mother, and savior. We must feel Guru’s presence in the puja mandir. Not just a photo. Talk. You understand. In dream he talks. Gives darshan. Don’t search for meaning. Bell also has a meaning. This is science. Puja is yoga science. Not blind belief to use to satisfy personal selfish desires. For our relationship with him we must protect the friendship and communicate. In half an hour of prayer and worship you gain energy. Grief is destroyed and also confusion. Also we must run to God. Hanuman gives energy, health, and wealth. All in one. We follow Datta religion. Not Siva or Vishnu. All in one. Trinity. Demons are they who hate Siva. What happened to Daksha brahma? Even Vishnu suffered. Siva is the ultimate source. He is without a beginning; He has no form. Others took incarnations with forms and vanished. He is formless and has form as Guru, or as Hanuman. That is why Jaya Guru Hanuman. Direct link to God. Earlier we used to have what was called a hotline. Hanuman is hotline to Datta. When the battery gets low on an iPhone there is an emergency call feature. You can make just one call. There will be power to do just that. When all is lost, Hanuman is our hotline. When there no charge in the battery and there is no electricity.

Last year one devotee had an experience. I have asked them to submit their write up to Bhakti Mala.
Too cold one night. Road closed. Couple did not know. Traveled about 80 miles. Got stuck in a storm for 18 hours, and there was no food. Only Swamiji’s bhajans they listened. Are we going to die here? No communication. No battery in iPhone. No communication. Swamiji, what is my sin? My ego? Then they found the feature of the last emergency call. Tried a number in the dark and cold. Imagine their plight?

We will die in this ice. Our karma. Not your fault. We missed the announcement. Suddenly they made contact with a friend who lived nearby. Where are you? Before they could give details the call ended. The friend called the police and they investigated as to where they might have started their journey and where they may now be stuck. The man had a touring job. They searched and guessed the location and found the stuck lone car. They survived. Jaya Guru Datta!!!!
They were rescued and given warmth. Coffee revived them. They ate the fruits that the people brought. At once they charged their phone. The last call saved their lives. They came at once to India. Want to be close to Swamiji. Happened six months ago. Recently. The girl remembers and cries. You saved us. OM namo hanumate namaha.
Hanuman likes Kali mother.

Bhajan:
Dhyana shloka
Vani Vani vandanamamma

We need Saraswati mata at exam time. Students need to pass. Suddenly they are gripped by fear and devotion. Explain to the children the meaning about Saraswati. Psychological feeling they get that unless they pray to Saraswati they will not pass. Devotion or not, they pray and worship Mother Goddess.

Don’t struggle give this bhajan with meaning. Kids get confused with too many stories.

Important translation work is going on to explain about deities for children. We do not know to tell them. Apps are prepared. With English meanings also 775 bhajans are ready and will be posted on Bhajanayogam.org. For meanings you may go to the Internet..

Some bhajans have special meanings with details about each deity.
Vamshi, Chandra and Hira aunty are working on this project.

Know the meaning when you sing or do puja. More interest and more devotion is developed. How many different flower garlands Tirupati daily offers to the deity, different Malas in various colors. Decoration also has meaning. Not toy play. Vedanta people say that it is not significant. No. God is our family member. Not idol of stone. Our friend, savior. father, and mother. So many meanings for murthy. Not stone idol not rock.

Ram hanuman murti. Not idol do not use that word. Every action has meaning. Know the meaning and enjoy puja. Communication with SWAMIJI. It should not be mechanical. Unknown action is not good. Know the meaning of each action in puja. Temple also has meaning about our body.

For each bhajan you must explain the meaning. Swamiji’s bhajans are composed like that; almost all Sanskrit bhajans; ten per cent Telugu and five per cent Kannada. Each gives the complete essence about each deity. Many manipravala bhajans. Everyone understands except language fanatics. But they are the ones who explain the meaning of the lyrics. Like Amba Bhavani Sharade, Dattatreya trimurtiroopa, or Krishnam vishnum. All love these bhajans and claim as being in their own language. They are popular, yet most simple bhajans. Why do the scholars sing these? Because they are popular. There is some power in them. They have to render songs that please the audience.

Bhajan: datta dhyana shloka
Dattam deena
Bhajan: Siva dhyana shloka
Disi disi
Bhajan: Vishnu dhyana shlokam
Dandalu Dandalu Ramayya
Bhajan: Hanuman dhyana shlokam – aamisheekrita
Anjaneya gativi neeve
Koti surya teja maruti – harati song
Tvameva mata …

Anyone with an answer to my question about the clue given in the shloka on Ganapati? Ganapati’s robe is of Shona color – like Swamiji’s clothes, according to this dhyana shloka/meditative prayer. Yes. Muladhara has 16 petals. Lord Ganapati presides over it. Yes. Swamiji is Ganapati. (Datta has 16 aspects).
