Speeches of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – Shivaratri and 5th Birthday of Puttu Gam Sri – February 17, 2015 – Mysore

5th Birthday of Puttu Gam – morning

Happy Birthday Puttu Gam. This has been a week of miracles, as if in a dream. Feeling surprise, then joy, and then sad when each event ends. Incarnation itself is such. Rama was born. Everyone was happy. He ruled for 10 thousand years. Then when He left, there was sadness. Each soul comes and goes.

Reservation is very important for comfortable travel. 5 days of travel time is now reduced to 2 days. Still, if there is no berth available for sleeping, it is a problem. Safeguarding the luggage is another concern. One has to protect the belongings from theft. Cannot sleep with abandon during travel. Cannot relax. One feels helpless because things are not in the control of the passenger.

Spiritual journey also has difficulties. If proper reservation is not there, we suffer. Random birth and irregular lifestyle are useless. We must strive to plan well and arrange for suitable clothes and sufficient funds for the journey. We must ensure that we have a seat and there is safety. Always elders enquire about our journey when we arrive after travel. They want to make sure that our travel was comfortable. They cannot change anything. But still, it is courtesy to always ask if the journey was comfortable. The moment they ask, happily we say yes, in spite of the inconveniences we might have suffered. It is only in the course of conversation that we reveal that our luggage is missing. We then request them that since we need to get a new suitcase, to take us to the market.
Adjustments have to be made. We must make a list of all the documents that we have lost. We have to keep asking the authorities to keep trying to trace our luggage. They tell us that the luggage was sent to Indonesia instead of to India. Travelers are reluctant to confess the loss of precious items and gifts packed in the suitcase, brought for friends or given by friends or relatives or special prasadam items received from Sadguru.

If in spite of meticulous planning, sometimes accidents occur, and things go wrong, then God is responsible. But for our carelessness and negligence, God is not responsible.

What is the topic of this discourse? Is this Journey Upanishad? Luggage Upanishad? I am speaking of over confidence on the part of devotees. Many have the complacence that Swamiji is there and He will take care of everything. They deliberately place their hands in fire and expect Swamiji to protect them. If it is an accident, yes, God protects. But not if it is deliberate negligence, wickedness, or foolishness. Some people challenge Guru. If you are really powerful, then you must give my neighbor loose motions and vomiting. It is very wrong to wish ill upon others. It is wrong to challenge Guru to prove His powers.

No. Ask for a positive mental transformation of the mindset of the neighbor. You should swear by the strength of your devotion, not by Guru’s power. If my devotion is true, please make my neighbor turn into a good person, is how you must word the challenge, and not, if you have the power to do so, bring harm upon him. You cannot make rubbish in your home, and then demand that Guru should clean up the mess you have created in your home.

It is not good devotion when you make such demands from Guru. It is demonic devotion. I need to see a change in how you pray. You must first change yourself. Then the bad people in your life will automatically begin to appear to you as good people. When you become gentle and pure, others will begin to appear so to you.

Crystal does not hide itself. It merely reflects what is placed near it.

Clear glass, and sometimes mirrors also, people bang against, because they do not realize that it is there. Especially in a brand new house, and the hosts throw a housewarming party, the mirrors fool people and they get injured. Furniture gets broken. Expensive Belgian glass breaks. People will then scold the guests at the housewarming function. They fondly blame their children or actually boast of their expensive taste at furnishing with such fine materials. The guest is wounded. It is not a solace to the wounded guest that your son ordered Belgian glass as a status symbol. You must put some stickers or some marks on the glass surfaces to prevent accidents like that.

Some bathroom floors are so shiny and slippery. The very first day people step in there, they slip and fall on the smooth tile floor. Doctors thank such fancy designs in homes. They are happy to get a lot of injured patients.
We must correct ourselves. Lifestyle changes are needed. Your body language discloses your bad attitude. Your words, expressions, and actions reveal your inner wickedness. The wolf in sheep’s clothing will be exposed.
How to change one’s attitude? How to change one’s way of thinking?

Puttu Gam messages are the answer. Many devotees complain that the messages are all only in English. No. Some messages are sent also in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and other languages. Till you Learn proper Guru Bhakti/devotion towards Guru, charity, kindness, compassion, and a truthful nature, these messages will continue to be sent to you. They help you in problem solving and in correcting your mistakes. In just one or two lines of simple English or an occasional tough English, they give a valuable lesson. Thousands of devotees worldwide acknowledge that. They feel like each is a personal message just meant for them for that particular day. Puttu Gam messages help students overcome memory loss, and lack of confidence also. Students derive great benefit from these inspirational daily words of advice.

All these messages are quotes taken directly from Swamiji’s speeches. Heaps of messages are sent to Swamiji daily. He carefully chooses the right messages to send each day. Several volunteers work diligently to prepare these photos and videos daily.

Sri Puttu Gam. Sri is Swamiji. Puttu is Sri Jayalakshmi Mata. Gam is Ganapati.

Three famous parrots were given to Swamiji for Puttu Gam’s Birthday. First time I will show them to you in public. Don’t clap loudly when you see them. It will frighten them. Puttu Gam and Sri are now being introduced for the first time in public.

The Amazon parrot is Puttu. The Eclectus is Gam from Indonesia. It is the pure green parrot. It destroys your sins if you just see it. The African grey from the Congo region is the most intelligent amongst all parrots. It is Sri. These are my ‘Hero’ birds and are all born here. They are now about one year old. They have been presented to Swamiji as Puttu Gam Birthday gifts. Like children, they play and chatter.

Normally lorikeets do not speak. But here, in Shuka Vana, even lorikeets are beginning to talk. Now a Talking Birds video will be shown.

Herbal bath is arranged today in Saptarshi Sarovara/the Temple pond. Swamiji will go take a bath now upstairs. Sanctified water from Swamiji’s bath will be piped into the pond. Chant Siva Siva and take a dip. Have darshan of Siva and Sri Datta Venkateswara today. Have only a light meal. Rest, but do not sleep. All night we will chant the Hanuman Chalisa. Send your individual or group counts to sgshanumanchalisa@gmail.com.

Increase the chanting. Keep playing the Vimeo or YouTube videos of Hanuman Chalisa. 8 times it repeats the prayer. The number of viewers multiplied by 8 will be the count each time the long video plays. We must reach the target of 130 crore repetitions quickly. I will not remain here in India otherwise. I will move to Trinidad. It is up to you to decide whether you are going to keep Swamiji in India or send Him away to Trinidad. There they have made all the arrangements to receive Him.

Take Puttu Gam membership right away.

At least send a minimum count of 40 Hanuman Chalisa repetitions for each individual daily. Every day you can send your count and daily you can see your picture posted. Drops make an ocean.
