Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – Surprise Darshan in the morning – June 2, 2015 – UPH Mysore

Jai Veera Hanuman ki Jai.

What is special today? I looked out of my window. 2 or 3 people were sitting quietly in dhyana chanting the Hanuman Chalisa outside at 4:30 or 5 am.

Later they were not there. They left. They had wanted to do Pada Puja and give some samarpana to Swamiji. They had approached the staff with their request and were snubbed. They were scolded for making their unreasonable wish known. So, they just wanted to put the money in the Hundi and leave.

They were so happy that Swamiji unexpectedly gave them darshan and an opportunity for Pada Namaskara. Now, they may not be here. They might have left.

This year do not cross the road. This year especially it is not advised. Be very careful. If it is absolutely necessary, watch for the traffic to slow down and then only go across very cautiously. Traffic normally is very heavy here. Last night an unfortunate incident has occurred.

Hanuman Chalisa sounds very fine, when chanted in a group here. It sounds great. But individually when you chant for the recording, lots if mistakes occur both in the tune and the script. Showing the lines on the prompter also is not helping. Why is there such nervousness? Hanuman will protect you. Do not look at those who are around you. Imagine that you are alone. Look ahead at what you have to see. If you notice the audience, you cannot act. That is how it is for the stage and movie actors. You now realize what Appaji goes through. Bright blinding lights. You cannot see the world. That is why even some movie scenes go through 30-40 takes. Lots of loss of film and effort. Not any huge profit is made on most movies. Only a few make a bumper profit. Singers also suffer the same way. One must be confident. Only on the repetition of the line, they see the camera. Not the first time they sing the line. You worry about the reaction of others. Of 500 recordings made so far, only 200 are good. At least the first 8 lines you must sing perfectly.

Golden Conure parrot on my shoulder is the Indra Pakshi, Bird of Indra. Only 300 or so are left in the world. It is an endangered species. Appaji has 3 or 4. Very tough to get them. Costs 6-10 Lakhs. She is Mother Goddess Herself. I wanted to give darshan with this to you. The other white bird which was with me earlier, (a small cockatoo), represents Jnana. Like a ball that small bird goes with me, travels in my hand. Wealth also you need, along with Knowledge, to live in this world. That is why I gave you the chance to have a darshan of both the birds (parrots).

It has been noticed that the people of Karnataka are helping a lot with the maintenance of Shuka Vana. Now a new Sun Conures aviary has been inaugurated. They are also golden yellow parrots. Photo sessions are there. Not even expensive. Only one hundred rupees. Everyone should go today. Your photo you show me and get blessings. Of all the people who have attended the functions here only about 10 per cent have utilized this opportunity of taking a photo with the birds. Keep a photo at home to be rid of poverty of all types.

Yesterday from the upstairs of the Guru Nilayam, a parrot sang
“Jaya Hanuman Jnana Guna Sagara” during the Volunteer Parade. You all heard it, didn’t you?

Sri Guru Datta
