Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – morning – March 20, 2015 – Hyderabad
Jai Veera Hanuman ki Jai.
Lalita Parameswari/Mother Goddess Puja/Suvasini Puja has just now taken place organized by Matru Mandali. If the Matru Mandali is strong and filled with devotion, Swamiji will come any number of times. It should be strong. Our housewives should learn our traditions, our pujas, our mantras and how to chant them. It is not necessary that only a male priest should conduct the pujas. Women should also learn how to conduct pujas. Next year, you should conduct this event yourselves. Do not depend on a priest. You become the priests yourselves. I like it if you learn to chant the mantras for the pujas. The same way that the priest conducts, you must learn to perform also, all the different pujas, the Anaghashtami Puja, Sri Lalita Sahasranama Puja, Sri Rajarajeshwari Puja, and so on. All the pujas you should be able to do yourselves. You then need not wait for the priest to come. Women should become priests themselves. There is no caste restriction for this. The only restriction is that you should not eat meat. You should not touch liquor or tobacco. You should eat only Satvic food. That will give you the qualification to perform pujas.
You are lazy. You say that you cannot pronounce the words. You must make the tongues twist to utter the words correctly. You simply leave the responsibility on the priest and argue that you gain more merit by getting it done that way. That is not true. If you do it yourselves, you get 120% merit. If the priest conducts you get only 50% merit. You should aim to earn more than 100% spiritual merit. There is only one restriction. One rule only to follow. You should not eat eggs or meat. You must never cook these at home. You must teach your children. Meat and eggs are causing a lot of diseases like cancer. Synthetic eggs are causing lots of illnesses. Doctors keep giving contradicting advice. Once they say eat and then they suddenly say don’t eat. They give crazy suggestions sometimes. Near San Diego in California, in USA there is a big town where all the residents are vegetarians. You must visit that city. I cannot remember the name now. It is at the tip of my tongue. No eggs and no meat are available in that entire city. Very tasty food they prepare. No liquor can be seen anywhere in that town. It is simply not sold or available.
Mattur is a town in Karnataka. In Rajasthan also there is a town like that. All residents there speak Sanskrit including children and servants also. This is the proof that God exists. This is proof that Dharma is preserved. They live for 100 years in good health. Only 2 Ayurvedic doctors and hospitals are there in the town. They have an ambulance to take patients to a nearby hospital in case there is any emergency. But that ambulance has no work. Normal deliveries only occur with no surgeries. They live without any fear. All are our people. Many are Swamiji devotees. Many times they are invited for conducting major yajnas. They do not look like scholars. But all are well educated and all are graduates. They have a university a little distance away. They dress in a very traditional manner. They dress very attractively. They are all surviving.
Why have Datta devotees become like this? Datta devotees say verbally that Swamiji is their God and yet they eat eggs. Do you know that you are destroying the life that is in the eggs? The same energy and nutrition that eggs provide are available also in some grains. Why don’t we eat those instead? In the olden days people were strong. They were giving birth to a dozen children. They were not eating eggs. Devotees of Mother Goddess, devotees of Lord Hanuman, devotees of Sri Venkateshwara Balaji, and Guru devotees must take a vow now that from today onwards you will not eat eggs. f you eat eggs, then do not come for interviews with Swamiji. Do not invite Swamiji to your house for a house visit. Omelette eating is demonic. It is a child inside the egg that you chop up, cook and eat. It is the same as our own child. Have you no compassion? You kill goats. The animals cry for life. Will you be spared from sin just because you yourself are not personally the killing the animals? No. Because you eat, you get sin. Because you purchase the meat, the butcher slaughters the animals. I get sin to even talk about all this unnecessary killing. You get sin for listening about it. It is not only the butcher who acquires the sin. If your friends eat non-vegetarian food, your friendship with them will give you sin. Pan or betel leaf with tobacco, and consuming liquor are also bad. You must not touch those.
Someone gave me a parrotlet/a tiny parrot. So small and white. It says Jaya Guru Datta in a soft tone. To hear Swamiji’s voice it gets excited. It sits on the flute and listens to flute when Swamiji is playing it. Very pretty cream color. Says Datta and Thatha. So loving. I said bye to that VIP. I told the children before I left Mysore, I do not know if I will see this bird in the New Year. They were worried to hear those words. This morning as the children were watching, it said Jaya Guru Datta Thatha and collapsed. That type of chanting of God’s name at our last breath, is our vehicle to higher worlds. You must develop that habit. Do not be too attached to your children. Teach them good habits. But follow your spiritual path. Do not keep worrying about others.. I am late this morning because I wanted to see a few of the parrot’s pictures. I was telling the boys to show me more photos. It used to sit on the flute as I played. That bird will go to great higher worlds.
That mother who is sitting there, was too much attached to her children. Now she is so changed. Many examples are here of such people. She had so many desires. She could not walk. I said walk. She walked. Her devotion now is so strong. She is responsible for the Chintamani Ganapati temple that has built in Vishakhapatnam. She gave crores of rupees for it. She has no more craving about children. Yes. Duty towards children is inescapable. But for yourselves you must set some priorities. You must take care of yourselves. I share joys and sorrows with all of you. But I have a life of my own. Do not gossip. Mind your own affairs. This Samsara is an ocean. Get the strength to navigate this boat called the body. Don’t get depressed.
Another bird used to do puja along with me. Because of it, the beautiful Shuka Vana came into existence. It was a human soul in a bird’s body. On the day of Shuka Vana inauguration it died. One day it flew to Hanuman and brought me back a toram. I had promised to take it there for darshan but I did not do it. So it went by itself, in spite of not being able to balance properly. A wild cat bit off its leg one night. It would wait for me when I took a bath. It liked to do puja with me. It offered a flower to the Sri Chakra on the day it died.
24/7 – Twenty four hours seven days a week, do Hanuman and Rama smarana/remembrance and chanting. Do not keep talking. Especially when devotees come in the line to receive prasadam from Swamiji, if you talk, Swamiji cannot hear what they are saying. The same thing will happen to you when you are telling Swamiji something important or of some trouble you are having, when Swamiji is giving you prasadam.
In Germany and Switzerland, a Mouna course was conducted. They all were sitting still like rocks. From morning 6-12 and again in the evening 6-9. No movements. Only silence. Swamiji explained to them about sense organs, breath, and about chakras and their energy. About our protection and about exercising control He explained. No telephones. 3-4 days course. Indians cannot do it. They are very fickle minded. Too many thoughts and anxieties. Milkman, servants, phone messages. Earlier days there were no telephones. In 1976 I got a telephone for the first time. I lived even before. I managed. Our forefathers had no phone. Now can you reach them by phone? Then what is the use of having a telephone? Upstairs is mother in law. Downstairs is servant. The vegetable vendor comes and a conference call takes place between mother in law and daughter in law who is watching television serials, to decide what vegetables to buy that day. The vegetable vendor also consults his wife over the phone about the price of the vegetable they want to purchase. Don’t use phones for trivial things. If you think Swamiji is angry, you convey the news at once to others over the phone. Why?
Host and welcome committee people can come and receive prasadam now. Tomorrow is the Ugadi festival. We begin early tomorrow at sunrise. We begin darshan of Sadguru. Evening program today concludes early. There is dinner also.
Everyone should send their Hanuman Chalisa counts daily. Swamiji will see the photos. Quickly do it. Non devotees are also sending. At least like that, let them come to Guru. Hanuman is in his universal form. Tie a Purna phala that this Maha Yajna should complete successfully.
Now 20 crore repetitions of Hanuman Chalisa have been completed. Done so far. We still have a long way to go. 68 other countries are sending. We must not miss our opportunity to participate.
