(Note Compiler: First few words were inaudible.)

God is all-pervasive in His three forms.

Mind must be stilled. Only when the mind is stilled, we earn the eligibility for Dhyana/meditation. Always we must take controlled deep breaths, inhalations and exhalations. Unknowingly, we often take short breaths. Such breaths are incomplete and lead to diseases. Such incomplete breaths also lead the sense organs astray and cause trouble. Taking long breaths is very important. It will cure diseases. That activity of proper deep inhalation and exhalation is the work of Vayu, the god of Wind.

The term Guru-Vayu-uru is there. Guru is Paramatma/Narayana/Sri Hari. Vayu is life. Guruvayuru is a combination of Guru and Vayu. Our Self and our life. Paramatma/Supreme Soul is the Guru. Vayu is the individual soul. These two are responsible for whether we keep the sense organs under control, or leave them without restraint, free to do as they please. This is the essence of Narayaneeyam. That is what I am now explaining.

Guru and Vayu must be favorable to us. Guru is Paramatma. Vayu is Jeevatma. When they merge, they make the sense organs their field of activity. When the sense organs are freely engaged in their activities, Guru remains as a mere witness to the play of the senses. He does not do anything. With Vayu’s help we must take control of the senses. We need Guru’s grace, i.e. Paramatma’s grace to do this. Guru is Paramatma, Himself. Guru is not all those who wear costumes like gurus. We respect them as spiritual guides, as representatives of Lord Narayana.

Parama Guru is Paramatma. Para means one who transcends everything. That word requires great explanation. He cannot be grasped in any manner. It is Light which cannot be contained. We cannot see it, or keep it in our pocket. We cannot create any forms with it. That Paramatma is within us as light. But, we do not know. Because we do not recognize Him, we go after the sense organs. We depend on the sense organs. We like them a lot. The senses are always inviting actions through Kama, Krodha and others, desires, anger and so on. It is always eager to commit sin and cause turbulence. They enjoy committing sins, telling lies, and so on. We must become free from the clutch and influence of the sense organs. Guru is watching but is not getting involved. He is all-pervasive, and yet, He is not touched. He is noncommittal. He is strange, this Narayana, Guru.

Vayu is the Jeevatma. He protects the sense organs. He rules them. He is very friendly with them. The individual soul is of the form of air. He spreads himself far and wide. Whatever wrong is committed, he places the blame on Guru. We have already understood how Guru is defined. Even when blamed, Guru does not react. That is His nature. He remains neutral, no matter what. He remains uninvolved. It is Guru’s nature not to be affected, even if He is blamed.

Intellect is there, sometimes it is confused with the mind. It pokes its nose and teaches the sense organs to experience all kinds of things, like heat, cold, pleasure, pain, backache, thirst, headache, stomach ache, yawning, sleep, sneezing, pains, aches, all kinds of defects of the body, it makes one feel.

In every physical body, there are all kinds of flaws, in different ratios and proportions. Each body is vying with all other bodies to claim a higher number of pains, and vices. Everybody is competing against every other body for flaws and defects, for aches and pains, for lusts and cravings, for delusion and obsessions. All kinds of efforts are made to satisfy desires, to eat that laddu, or that other delicacy. We cannot sleep until we satisfy the wish, even at midnight we get up to fulfill the desire, for that saree, or that watch. Greed takes over. The sense organs are always giving their cooperation and help in all this disturbing activity.

Despite such chaos taking place, Paramatma remains only as a witness, but he gets the blame. People keep saying that God is doing everything and causing all this trouble. And we demand that God should protect us. Today we are going to find out the secret behind all this. Instead of falsely accusing Guru, we should control the movement of Vayu/air, who regulates the sense organs. We should make the same Vayu do things to benefit us, rather than cause us harm. We have to use dhyana/meditation, to reverse the activity and the results produced by Vayu. From the same Vayu, we must get good things done. This is called Dhyana/meditation. Through this, we must obtain comfort and happiness. This same energy should be utilized to lead us along the path of Truth. There is no need for any other outside help. We must use Vayu, who is already with us.

This is the message on Guru Purnima to all of you. You must always control the breath that is moving within you. Once the air’s movement is restrained, something inside begins to move.

What moves? What is this new definition? You are saying keep Vayu under control. Then, do the senses move, or does the individual soul move? Paramatma does not move. That has already been established. Does God show favors or does He punish? Of the three, sense organs, individual soul, and Paramatma, what is it that moves?

You said something moves if Vayu is controlled. The Karma acquired over countless lifetimes, going through the wombs of so many species, that Karma begins to move.

We are taking so many births, as dogs, animals, birds, insects, entering into so many wombs. Who is whose relative, who was whose son-in-law in the past lifetime, we do not know; who was your mother-in-law, or wife, or brother, or husband, you do not know; whether one is female or male, we do not know. Where we were, what we were, we do not know. He has turned off that switch. That knowledge of past lives, that switch has been turned off. It will never again be turned on. Only when by controlling our breath, we initiate this special movement, then, the residue of whatever Karma is there, it will get burned or melted away. The movement melts all the accumulated Karma. We do not need to do anything else.

To help the body, you may still do pilgrimages, and so on. That is all. For the purpose of learning, to train the intellect, you have to do pilgrimages. You still have to read scriptures, and lead a spiritual life. All these are essential to teach the intellect. But meditation, if you can control, then your past karma that is in the form of sin, will get transformed into merit. Darkness itself turns into light. There is no need to bring in light by any special effort. Light does not chase way darkness. Light is darkness. Darkness is light. Light merges darkness into itself. Earth is rotating. Sun is constant. He is also moving. That is another matter.

Because the earth rotates it casts its own shadow upon itself and it becomes dark. Similarly, when the intellect wavers, light and darkness occur and alternate within us. We create light and darkness within ourselves. When knowledge is introduced, ignorance disappears. Darkness does not exit from a window, when you bring in light. When knowledge increases, ignorance fades away. When faith and devotion increase, ignorance and laziness will vanish.

You may think, I have no devotion, I have no dedication, I am not generous. All these feelings are the relatives of darkness. Once the light of knowledge enters, all these many relatives of darkness will flee. All these are siblings of ignorance. Once knowledge as light is introduced, by the glance of Guru, by the glance of knowledge all karmas get burned or melt away. For this, knowledge must increase. For that, devotion and dedication must increase; eagerness, and a yearning for Guru must increase. I see it today.

I have learned the Guru Gita. I know the meaning. Tomorrow you take up Bhagavad Gita. Then I will proceed to study the Upanishads.

Guru has lighted the lamp. You need to keep adding oil to the lamp to keep it burning. Then the darkness goes away. The fuels to add to the lamp are of different forms, like Satsang, and so on. The more fuel you add, the brighter the light will glow.

I want to see Swamiji, an eagerness, a happiness should be there. A bus is traveling down a valley, on a down-slope. Something happens in your stomach. Air pressure changes. That instant you feel it, some sensation, unless of course, you are fast asleep. Then again as the bus climbs up, the sensation goes away.

So many relatives, like laziness, desire, negligence, disease, lust, there are many more such enemy relatives.
We must chase away the darkness and gain bliss. The path that helps us achieve this, is Dhyana Brahma. Nada Brahma. Swamiji is initiating a new experiment. This is global, including all countries. Today we are inaugurating it.

There is a small device. A tiny machine. When you wear it on your hand, like telephone, you come in contact with me. Unlike a telephone, you don’t pay for the calls. This is one-to-one. You come face to face with me. With my breath, you also can meditate. You can hear my voice.

Rohini and her brother Bhairav, and Rohini’s husband, these children of Mani Shankar, they used to play with me when they were children. We have already tried it with people from other countries, America, Trinidad, Europe, etc. It works. It is a success. Now we are trying it here in India.

Everyone be quiet. Don’t make noise. You also do dhyana.

Many people across the world have this machine. If you have it, you also can join. Now I make contact with them.
Jaya Guru Datta. Happy Guru Purnima. My blessings to you and your family. I am in Hyderabad with so many of my disciples, students, and devotees.

Now we start dhyana with Swamiji. Nine members came. New three people came. Now, live started.

America, Malaysia, Canada, India, slowly they are joining. They are doing dhyana with me now. Steady the Prana.
There is a lot commotion in your minds. Disturbance. Stop it. Please concentrate.
46 people. 12 new people. From Russia. Denmark. Japan. England. Japan, two. Today 47 are doing dhyana. A new person has joined. You continue the dhyana. Don’t be disturbed by my talking. 48 people. I am calculating on the computer.

14 new people joined now. OM. 8 more minutes. Slowly they are joining, on Guru Purnima day. You are very lucky people. I have no words to explain about your merit. Silence. Steady the mind. Don’t pay attention to hunger and sleep. A few more minutes. Okay. Session ends.

Jaya Guru Datta. 15 minutes.

From Japan, Canada, India, Trinidad, Europe, Malaysia. They did dhyana with me. Happily, they heard my words. You also take. Once a week, or once a day, we may do. Those who are interested, may speak with Rohini and take the device. She and her husband are both working on this. New technique. Yoga, dhyana, dharma, we have to improve, and progress. First learn to steady the mind. Whoever has the capacity and eligibility may inquire and get. They have a website.

Those who did well in controlling the mind – the computer reveals. Many did well. 10 of them did very well. 92-100 per cent. Very nice. Whoever did not do well, will receive a message from Swamiji. If there is a heart problem, it will disclose. Rohini – 50 people have joined.

Dhyana Brahma – ask me questions.

Website gives scientific background, how Swamiji receives your input, how the technology works it explains.
sgsdhyana.com

10 people joined from here. It is a small device. They did very well because they are in Guru’s proximity.
How to obtain, what is the cost? How does it work? Wear it on your finger. That is enough. Hold it with the thumb. The pulse will reach Swamiji. Swamiji can hear it on his computer. Your heartbeat is registered. The computer will analyze and give results.

Swamiji will give personal messages. You are eating too much spice. Don’t eat non-veg food. It will tell, don’t eat chicken. The sound of the pulse is caught by the computer. As per the level, Guru directs their dhyana. It is very nice.

There are those who say, why do we need all this? Such people will never come to our path. These are karma friends. No need to take the device. Just sit in front of Swamiji’s photo and Swamiji will know. Now we have more technology. So, we can use. Nothing wrong in using it. It is very nice. The credit goes to the children who worked hard on this.

By the fire of Self-knowledge, the karmas accumulated over countless past lifetimes, and karma to be gathered in future lifetimes, will all be turned to ashes by you, O Gurudeva! I offer you salutations. There is no greater principle or penance than Guru. There is no higher philosophy than that of knowing about Guru. I offer you prostrations. This is how one should pray to Sadguru on this auspicious day of Guru Purnima. All those great Gurus in the lineage of preceptors, such as Sage Vyasa, Sri Sankara Bhagavatpada, Sri Datta, Sri Dakshinamurthy, and Sri Krishna Paramatma should be remembered and offered obeisance. All their followers are included in this lineage. They all should be worshiped.

For everyone, the ultimate aim is to get rid of sorrow and obtain the highest bliss of Liberation. Living is a waste, if one does not learn the right path from Sadguru, and if one does not follow that path shown by Guru. Having obtained this body after earning merit over numerous lifetimes, in this lifetime we must be very careful in how we follow the habits of food, recreation, and procreation. We should follow the instructions given by Guru and follow His guidance. In every single action we perform, we have to be attentive and cautious. Without living like birds or animals, we must spend our entire time in the service of Guru and fulfill the purpose of our lives.

In the presence of Guru, we must give up being egotistical or small-minded. We must be humble and obedient. Only then, a disciple can earn the grace of Guru. He will then first learn how to be a good human being, and thereafter, he will rise to divinity. The grace of Guru is showered upon those who follow this advice. Those who spend their lives in the proximity of Guru, experience less turbulence in their lives. They derive from Guru the strength to overcome their mental weaknesses. That is very important. We need that mental firmness. Guru lights within us the lamp of discretion that can distinguish between what is permanent and what is impermanent. He makes us see the difference between light and darkness. Such a one is Sadguru. Discretion allows the disciple to clearly see what is favorable and what is unfavorable.

Guru is a part of everyone’s life. Guru’s help and cooperation are most essential in every aspect of everyone’s life. This must be constantly remembered.

In society, goodness, purity, truth, unselfishness, as well as spiritual, moral, and social values are all brought to us only through Guru. He is instrumental in promoting and preserving these traits within us. Sadguru’s contribution to social wellbeing cannot be adequately stressed. By His words and actions, Sadguru, in His form, constantly instils in society the conduct required to overcome selfishness. Guru Purnima reveals the importance of this Guru principle.

We have all gathered around Guru to work together. All those who are with Guru must behave like loving siblings. There should be no room for any feelings of superiority or inferiority. Feelings such as: I render a lot of service. I am very close to Guru. You are not very important – should be completely absent. I am not of much service – is also not a good feeling. It should not be there. Everyone is equal.

Happiness is not elsewhere. It is only in the service of Guru. Bliss is within us. Guru reminds us of this fact. He releases the disciple from his involvement with the world. He removes his confusion, opens his eyes to Truth, and uplifts him. Guru grants the capacity to properly observe the workings of this vast world. He awakens the disciple to the discovery that there is absolutely no essence or value in any of the worldly activities. This Knowledge is most essential.

Datta Guru learned from 24 preceptors. He conveyed that understanding to King Yadu. Guru also takes from Nature and teaches those lessons to His disciple. He takes all the examples and lessons from this world and instructs His disciple.

Guru develops in the disciple, sincerity, concentration, freedom from desires, and freedom from ego, thereby granting him success in both worldly and spiritual fields. Even if there are worldly problems, if you place your trust in Guru, success is guaranteed. There is no doubt in it.

No matter how many temples and towers you visit, no matter how many rosary beads you turn, doing Japa, no matter how much penance you perform, no matter how many rituals and austerities you perform, or listen to however many religious and spiritual discourses, unless worldly desires are removed from the mind, steadiness of mind and peace are not attained. These, Guru gifts to the disciple, by freeing him from desires.

Guru makes the disciple understand his actual place in this vast universe, the minute extent of his talents, potential, knowledge, discretion, resources, and strength. Guru destroys his ego, and sows the seed of humility. The disciple who arrogantly prides himself and considers himself as great, based on his skill, scholarship, scientific knowledge, wealth, or intelligence is put in his proper place by Guru, who destroys his delusion and ego. Guru’s teachings, conduct, words, the path he treads, the songs he sings, and his actions drive away from his followers their demonic traits, and instill in them traits of perfect humanity. Thereafter, Guru raises them to where they spread the fragrance of divinity.

To win the grace of such a great Sadguru, to earn His favor, the foremost requirement is for the seeker, not to hurt anyone’s feelings, and never to intend harm for anyone. A devotee must not deceive or manipulate others to his advantage. He must give value to the virtues found in others. He must respect the elders. Based on their eligibility, he must give other respect, keep listening to speeches and discourses, always be eager to be in the presence of Guru, read, listen to, and share the experiences of other devotees. He should keep discussing the greatness of Guru.

Read the Bhaktimala magazine and other good spiritual magazines. It will strengthen your devotion. Guru does not treat anyone as superior to another. He treats everyone as equal. Give up feelings of envy and hatred. Always think only good thoughts. Always wish to engage only in beneficial actions.

Forget all things of the past. Study the biography of Guru. Know what type of services will please Guru. Every one of you must try to engage in such services always. Develop the attitude of always offering selfless service.

Without fail, if you follow all the above guidelines, Guru will certainly reside in your hearts. He will protect your family members. He will protect the place of residence of a true devotee. He protects his body. True devotees must utilize their time well. They must not waste any time. They must keep chanting prayers, performing worship, and practicing Datta Kriya Yoga with sincerity and devotion. They must chant the Guru mantra. They must always be blissfully aware that they are living as contemporaries of their Guru. Guru is with you. Remember that always. All your gurus are with you. Serve Guru to the best of your ability. Visit the temples and ashramas that are close to you. Participate in any service opportunities there.

Every one of you must participate in all the charity activities undertaken by Sadguru for world peace and universal wellbeing. View SGS Posts daily without fail. Visit all the Facebook pages managed by Sri Swamiji. Watch all livestream programs by yogasangeeta or SGS ashrama. By doing so, you will be well-informed of all of Sri Swamiji’s activities in a timely manner. All this information helps you in your journey through life. ‘Share Your Food’ program is for all of you. Skip one meal once a week and give that food to the poor. Feed a hungry soul.

Pay close attention to the behavior of your children from a young age. This is very important in the present age. Ensure that the social media is conducive to their mental and physical wellbeing, and not otherwise. Give good training to the children right from the start. Raise them well. Make sure that they use the Internet to their proper advantage. Be cautious that they do not abuse their freedom and go to wrong websites. Keep a watch on all the chats between your children and their friends and associates. Keep a watchful eye on all the activities of children whether they are alone, or are with their friends or acquaintances. Maintain good environment in your home. Do not fight in the presence of children. Keep the minds of the children pure and innocent. Discuss with them the biographies of great souls. Instill in them the values of charity and noble deeds. Inculcate in them moral values, self-restraint, and discipline.

By the grace Sri Veda Vyasa, and Adi Guru Dattatreya Swami, may good thoughts and feelings fill your hearts forever. May your hearts glow and be radiant with purity. May your devotion grow by leaps and bounds.

Jaya Guru Datta
Sri Guru Datta
