Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – June 15, 2008 – London
Visit to London from June 12-15 for 66 Birthday Celebrations and Music for Meditation and Healing at Central Hall Westminster.
Matr devo bhava, Pitru devo bhava. First respect is to be given to mother followed by father. Good or bad, doesn’t matter, you must give respect to mother. She is the first guru to any human being. That’s why Swamiji first gives respect to Jayalakshmi Mata. There might be some mischievous boys but not a bad mother in this world. We must respect mother. She carries us for 9 months and do we know how much pain she undergoes? No we can’t. So first respect is to be given to mother and to father for showing us this world.
The third is Acharya devo bhava.Ther are 3 types of Gurus. One is Guru, any ordinary Guru or teacher like how we have. Second is Sadguru who gives knowledge about Gnaana and the third is Parama Guru, who is Guru to Sadguru like Jayalakshmi Mata.
And finally we also have Atithi (Guest) devo bhava. A guest is also a god. We must follow these 4 Dharmas to be called as good human-beings. Otherwise we are not. Many people celebrate valentine’s day but not mothers day and fathers day. But apart from these, here we have been celebrating Guru’s day since 3 days, a happy day for everybody.
I am very happy on this day for honouring doctors, lawyers, professors. A doctor is like Brahma. Kantibhai is a very important musical doctor. He has written many books and is a good human being helping the mankind.
I am very happy about Madhukar Kotari, a Marathi musical director. Lastly, Eric Cross, I heard about him and his great musical compositions and musical miracles and ‘am very happy for him. Swamiji would like to perform a concert, combining east and west music, if he joins with his musical troupe and in future.
Today is a good occasion and a very happy day. We are celebrating Swamiji’s birthday according to Lunar calendar. Swamiji is fighting with truth in India relating to a land dispute. Swamiji is waging war again untruth and He will definitely win. Swamiji will fight till the truth wins.
Rama krishna Paramahamsa, Ramana Maharshi, Shirdi Saibaba all had troubles like these in these world. It is not new and truth will definitely win.
