Speech of HH Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji on welcome function of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, September 10, 2013 – Helapuri Sri Nam Datta Natha Kshetram, Eluru

Sadguru is the ultimate (meaning of the Sanskrit verses chanted). Today is a very sacred day, Rishi Panchami – The supreme Rishi, Sri Swamiji is amidst us. We should remember and worship the 7 great rishis. We are not only doing those but are also having direct darshan and conversing with them in the form of Sri Swamiji. The 7 rishis guide mankind in the path of Dharma. We offer our devout prostrations to Swamiji with our welcoming hearts.

Swamiji has released books on Veda and a booklet encouraging all devotees to do Datta Stava Parayana (chanting) for 9 times daily. Swamiji’s glories are sung here. The peace that we enjoy in His company is the greatest glory. All living beings are nurtured and guided by Lord Krishna as said in the Bhagavad Gita. We are directly experiencing it in the presence of Swamiji. Arjuna prayed to Lord Krishna to explain His glories, vibhootis. The 10th chapter is followed by the 11th chapter that gives the Viswaroopa Darshana, the Universal Form. We are able to visualize the Universal Form of God in our Swamiji. He is Friend to all. We are describing them because we are seeing the Lord’s glories in Swamiji. Viswaamitra rishi is friend to all, just like the Sun.

He, who sees, and shows is a Drashta, a Seer. Swamiji is the seer who sees the different deities and shows them directly to us through His bhajans which contain powerful mantras. He is Rishi, Rajarshi, Maharshi, and Brahmarshi. He is persuasive and is an emperor, a commander, like a King. Hence, He is a Rajarshi. He orders us to follow Dharma, (Datta Stava, charities, and so on.). He shows us the spiritual path through His immense sacrifices. He is thus a Maharshi. We offer to Him what He has given to us. God fills the lakes and we offer the good water from the lake to the Sun, to God. The water produced by the human body is unclean. Man is unable to produce pure water. Brahmarshi is Swamiji. Guru’s word is actual Amrita, the nectar of immortality. We wish to listen to His words again and again. Swamiji’s words of wisdom and spiritual knowledge raise us to the highest level. What the 7 rishis have individually accomplished, (Kashyapa, Atri, Bharadwaja, Gowtama, Jamadagni, Vasishtha, Viswamitra. God’s vision, Foremost Guru Dattatreya, Annadana expert, sacred water, Fire principle, Dharma, etc. – I hope I got them right) Swamiji is accomplishing all by Himself. For 1 lakh persons Annadana is planned here in Eluru. Already 70,000 have beeen fed.

Short speech at end of welcome function

Swamiji called Sri Brij Gopal Lunani as Bridge Gopal. Vraj bhoomi is Krishna’s land of youth. Brij comes from that word. He actually acts as a bridge. He said, “Swamiji strains a lot, please don’t strain going to all homes of all devotees, only come to my house. Swamiji’s voice is weak. Please don’t strain. Please sing bhajans for us tomorrow.” One person placed a mark on his nose. Why? In spite of seeing a mirror he did that. By following Guru mirror, how can we place the mark at the wrong place? Do we not give a wrong impression to others? Swamiji did not say wear make up. He said, look nice. Different incarnations, Swamiji spoke about. 3 Ramas – Parashurama angry and Rama always for Dharma. Balarama is also different, arrogance. But the Supreme Soul is the source of all three. Swamiji told the Ramayana in Mysore. What is today’s story? I said, Ramayana. He said, that I know. What section? I think Aranya Kanda. How can I speak of Aranya Kanda? I have not prepared. I said, you are Rama, why do you need preparation? That day, it was super special and everyone commented. Why did so many comment today? All these days you narrated as Valmiki. Today, you spoke like Rama. Swamiji speaks laughingly but the truths are very deep. We must preserve and apply them in our lives. Jaya Guru Datta. It is late, yet Eluru devotees are lucky that Swamiji is amidst us for so long.

Sri Guru Datta
