Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – May 29, 2012 – Mysore
Jaya Guru Datta
It is a sin to think that you are coming to see me here to please me, to increase my reputation, or to do me a favor. It makes no difference to me whether you come or not. You come because you are expecting some benefit from me. You are coming for your purpose, a selfish purpose. Don’t say that you are coming for these functions because if you do not come, I would feel bad.
I have come down here for the purpose of helping you and for uplifting you. If you want to benefit from my presence in this world, you have to come to me with an attitude of reverence and humility, not with arrogance and conceit, and not demanding that I see you no matter what, and solve your problems.
Hanuman flew to Lanka and returned because he had the ability to do so, while others like Jambavan and Sugreeva who had the ability to go to Lanka but not enough capacity to return, stayed back. I have come here to assist you and to take you back with Me. After all these decades, now I feel that I am tired and stuck here, because of your poor attitude towards the Guru. My wings have become damaged. In a short time, they will strengthen again and I will fly back. If your approach towards the Guru improves and you do sincere service to the Guru, then I will take you all back with Me. You are all like tiny birds and like the mother bird I will hide you under My wing to protect you and will take you back home.
