Dram Datta
Today’s discourses there were speakers in various languages and Telugu devotees were unable to follow the same. Whatever was spoken in Telugu was understood but the rest spoken in Sanskrit, English languages were unable to follow.
In this Datta Ashrama whenever we start any program we explain the meaning of the event and it has become a tradition. There is a board too that we have placed for all your convenience but in the program there were speakers from various languages speaking part in English,Telugu,Kannada and Sanskrit and also silence( Since those who were unable to follow the languages were at silence ).
Everything was half and all of us get a doubt why half ok let us not dwell on it. All these half make up full circle .Apoornam(Half circles) to Poornam(Full circle) .Many small circles unite to form a circle. Here this half circles even though apoornam however makes a complete circle (Poornam).
Once it is full(Poornam) it never becomes incomplete(Appornam) .Though there is little apoornam and also formless and incomplete still they become complete due to the grace of DATTA AND THIS IS ALL HIS POWER .This is Datta ambition .The forms that we cannot perceive we say “HA HAA HUHU “ with so much of anxiety attached we feel those forms .We have no words to express them and are dumb stuck looking at those forms .Like we go to an ocean and in no way we can measure its length and also depth ,we cannot swim nor get into it nor taste the waters instead are so overwhelmed looking at it and express feeling like “HA HAA HUHU “ .We use such a small expression”HA HAA HUHU” for such a extensive ocean . They express our emotions. We may feel by saying so it is not complete but still the ocean is always complete. We use such expressions for complete Ocean .Even SANAKA SANANDA’S has used “Ha Haa HuHu” with Brahma after extensively rendering the Vedas. This became SAMA VEDAM let’s not dwell it now as it is a big story.
Some of us can’t even express our happiness and we get dumb stuck and have no feelings. That is called a Mounam “Silence”. That which cannot be written,Silence,No words to express or spelt is called as vedam. We need to do severe penance to imbibe Vedas as it is a big tapas .This Tapas (Penance ) is so close to the heart of lord Brahma as whoever does it he likes them .The procedures that are liked by him and let me not go to them as it is a big subject and I do not want to dwell it now .The procedures and rituals that we have devised ourselves are few that we always need to adhere .
The first and foremost of them is Silence (Mounam) .If a person falls down he will be in a state of shock and also silence. Similarly when he listens to a news that makes him speechless .Even Doctor allows the patient to experience the same and be in silence .Though the doctor tells us still a patient who is alert automatically resorts to this tool “Silence “and replies to the doctor to leave him for 5 minutes .We need to infer that Mounam is Knowledge (Gyanam),It is a Prasadam (Blessing) we know and experience it ourselves .Hence if you observe with silence anything can be imbibed as to what is going on in the hall and also can sometimes understand the message / words etc in the lectures .At times when the best of lectures are delivered we fail to understand anything and it is simply due to lack of concentration and focus and interest on the subject .
The Doctor tells a patient to relax and calm down which makes his Blood pressure under control .But to our surprise if you observe the people or relatives nearby pressurize the doctor to administer the drug immediately. They do not know the technique of the Doctor and put him in a spot of bother for no reason and they fail to understand the basics which really saves the patient from the jaws of death.
Similarly which ever function you attend to just maintain calm and observe for 5 minutes and you come to understand the essence and also feel comfortable and relaxed. This is the main essence of “DATTA TATVAM “and the main principles of this ashrama which can be understood clearly.
Today we also witnessed “Chaitanya Archana “ to various scholar’s .This is the most happier moment as each one has selected their root of penance and came out in flying colors and are in our midst sharing their knowledge to us making them reach the abode of the Lord .Like we know there are 9 types of Bhakti ‘s similarly each choose a path to reach the God head .Similarly knowledge too has many branches .All together all of us reach the same stage but there are also stages like 1 2 3 etc .This is like imbibing complete knowledge (Poorna gynam ).These scholars are making their best efforts to explain to all of us these fine aspects of knowledge .They also feel that each of us have to imbibe and understand what they speak and only then they feel are well respected and satisfied for the knowledge gained .
We shall also focus our attention at the lectures so that we also get immensely benefitted. If we see the size of the book and get baffled and not even make efforts to open the pages then we are the real losers and at some point one day we open the same book at to our surprise we find more empty papers and pictures which makes it more interesting .This is what we need to learn that any good thing shall never be postponed.Sometimes the book we failed to open has no text in many pages and we feel there is nothing in the book and we never made efforts to open and remove the seal and observe the book as we were shocked looking at the volume or size of the book .This way it is we who lost precious days and had we opened the same in the first instance we feel that there are many pages which are blank and we get back to the shop keeper .This also makes us well aware and imbibe the knowledge in the book instead of postponing, reading the book ultimately we are the losers .The day we purchased the book the same day we need to check the book and infer the same and address the issue that there are no letters and then the shop keepers replies stating it a printing mistake .The reality is it is really empty but that message he will not tell the customer as in reality there is an inner meaning as how the book appeared .The customer in turn retaliates and cautions the shop keeper .The shop keeper then shows him another book citing some reasons and then the real interest in you is generated .
On going through few pages you will find your Sadhgurudeva photo and it catches your attention and you get more interested in the book. This message is so simple and clear even a lay man understands the message. Looking at the scholars we get a feeling that in some birth we also were so learned.
Thus we have made it a habit to tell the essence of the program as it generates interest in us .Otherwise we get totally distracted .The other point is since your sadhgurudeva is also listening you all have also generated interest and trying to understand the message delivered by the speaker .This is due to respect and also pay due attention to our sadhgurudeva which makes us more closure to the lecture and imbibe the message.
The lectures that we all heard were useful and they were also explained to the point and is like Panchamrutam as all these five ingredients make it very tasty. We call milk as Ksheramrutam but will never say fruit amrutham or honey amrutham .This is the speciality for Ksheera amrutham .
What all the knowledge these scholars have imbibed they tried to shower the same in front of Lord DATTA to all of us coming all the way .This is also one of their Homes ,native place .They came all the way came to express their Love towards Sriswamiji and that too on the auspicious event Datta Jayanthi .
I am very happy at their work and also commitment .They came purely out of love and not for any other aspect. I am also aware of the proceedings on a day to day basis.
The more we listen the more we imbibe and we develop the capacity to hold the good aspects in mind .Our memory powers also increase immensely.
