Today is the already the second day of Dashavatara temple consecration. Time waits for no one, even in an emergency. The wheel of time rotates endlessly. Even the clock does not wait for you when you want it to. We are all bound by time. We need to take heed of time. Paramatman Lord Datta alone is beyond time. He is Himself time and therefore greater than time. God arranged everything in this cosmos, not just the earth, to follow each another in a balanced manner. All beings are sustained by that balance. All planets are in balance. Similarly, all body parts are in balance. If one body part is affected, the others are too. The body gets a lot of problems and ailments if we do not balance our health. Our words, conduct, walk, food, sleep should all be in balance. Losing balance on one will throw us off balance. We should learn to move forward without losing balance.
This creation is amazing. We walk on two feet with balance. If we lose balance even a little, we fall. God has set us up nicely on our feet. By God’s grace, we have two hands to work with. The five sense organs do their job of seeing smelling tasting, hearing and touching. The five elements pervade the body. If any one element is off balance, it leads to dissolution – meaning the soul leaves the body. To prevent dissolution, we should keep the sense organs (indriyas), the intellect (buddhi) and the mind balanced. God is only a witness, he does not interfere. He does not interfere with our senses or intellect or mind. He is a neutral witness for everything in this creation. The Lord maintains the balance.
Days are rolling by fast. The infant we see today is impossible to be carried tomorrow after he grows up. We cannot play with it like we used to. The infant grows up and begins to look like us. We cannot do anything about it. The person also grows old. Growth is continuous. Death leads to birth and birth leads to death. We are all growing towards death. Growth starts as soon as we are born. There is an interesting miracle in the body. There is an inner army in the form of a healing process that the Lord put in our body. This is automatically triggered when we get injured. We do not need to do much for the healing to start. We apply tincture or go to the hospital although the body will start healing regardless. We run to the doctor because we lack the strength to bear the pain from the injury. What does the doctor do? He first numbs the area to put medicine on it. Once the numbness wears off, the medicine works. The outside army of medicine begins to work with the inner army in the body for healing. What a big process (Yajna) this is? Who else can orchestrate such a big Yajna? God gives us the injury and he heals us too. What an amazing process this is? Can man do this? This is only possible in God’s creation. Can man make another man? He can only make a robot, not a human. Only God can create man. There is an old adage in which man is compared to a tree. A tree is born from a tree. The tree bears fruits. The fruits called children are beautiful, but cannot be eaten and relished. Such is God’s illusion (maya).
We talked about the consecration yesterday. We are already on the second day. This Dashavatara idol is not ordinary. We consecrated this idol that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Any idol of Dashavatara is secondary to this. You are all fortunate to be here. This idol is consecrated here not only as a blessing for the State, but also to remove everyone’s problems. The city of Amaravati is fortunate as this temple is established at its doorway. The Lord established the temple here Himself for our welfare. Many could not witness the consecration yesterday as it was extremely crowded. You may go today and see the Lord to your heart’s content. Every incarnation of Dashavatara has a special significance. You heard Bala Swamiji talk about the Dashavatara a little while ago. He talked about each incarnation’s mantra, energy, and significance. Even if you pray to one of the idols, you will get tremendous energy and relief from diseases. Dashavatara is like divine medicine. He is present here as Knowledge and Dharma. He protects all beings in His forms as Rama, Krishna, Balarama, Parashurama, Varaha, Matsya, Koorma etc. He is the combined form all incarnations.
May all your troubles go away. May your desires be fulfilled. But if you have the wrong intentions and desires, they will not be fulfilled. Only the intents and desires that are Dharmic and truthful will be fulfilled. Even those desires may not be fulfilled in some situations. But if you fearlessly pray to the Lord, He will definitely bless. Swamiji is blessing you with the fulfillment of desires.
Today, there is Kalyanam done for Lord Venkataramana – the first such ritual in the temple. Watch the event. It is good for you, even if you watch from a farther distance. It will bestow goodness in life. It will remove the sins of many lives if you watch the Kalyanam. May goodness pervade your intent, sense organs, and mind. May the Lord bless your families. Seven generations prior and after will be blessed when you watch the Kalyanam.
