701. Deśa-kālā-paricchinnā
Meaning – She is not measurable by the limitations of space and time.
Just like the sky, Parabrahma is all-pervading. Even space and time are His creations.
702. Sarvagā
Meaning – At all times and in all places She exists in everything and in everybody. She is omnipresent.
703. Sarva-mohinī
Meaning – She causes attraction and illusion in everyone.
Nature (prakriti) always causes an illusion and makes one forget him/herself.
704. Saraswatī
Meaning – She is Saraswati, the presiding deity for all the knowledge.
‘Saras’ means ‘pond’. She resides in the heart of the individual that is comparable to the pond and hence is known as Saraswati. It is also said that She resides in the tongue. She is the power behind the origination of speech.
705. Śāstramayī
Meaning – The scriptures (shastras) form Her body. She is an embodiment of all knowledge.
Shastras include all branches of knowledge including the Vedas and Upanishads.
706. Guhāmbā
Meaning – She is the mother (amba) of Lord Subrahmanya, who is known as Guha.
Guha means a cave. As this Lord resides in the cave called the heart, He is called Guha. Guru Gita states that ‘gu’ is darkness (ignorance within the being) and ‘ru’ is He who dispels of that darkness. In his position as Guru, this Lord dispels this darkness and hence is called Guha.
Lord Subrahmanya is the planet Mars (angaaraka or kuja). Therefore those who suffer due to kuja dosha, should offer worship to this Lord.
707. Guhya rūpiṇī
Meaning –
a) Her form is very secretive.
b) As She has taken on the form of the Guru, She is Guhya-rūpiṇī.
Guru murti dharām guhyām guhya vijnāna dhārinim
Guhya bhakta jana preetām guhāyaam nihitām numah
c) As She retains within Her, the most secretive knowledge, She is Guhya- ūpiṇī.
d) She loves those devotees who undertake sadhana sincerely and secretively. Here secretively, means without advertisement and demanding attention.
e) She resides within the guha (cave) that is the heart.
708. Sarvopādhi-vinirmuktā
Meaning – She is over and above the need of a physical carrier (body) for Her existence.
Upādhi is a carrier (physical/ gross body). The being expresses itself through its carrier. The Supreme consciousness does not need any such support. As She does not have even a trace of ignorance attached to Her, the necessity of a carrier is wiped away.
709. Sadāśiva-pativratā
Meaning – She is the dutiful/ chaste wife (pativrata) of Lord Sadāshiva. She is the energy of Paramatma.
The greatness of ‘pativrata dharma’ (chaste woman) is being emphasized here.
710. Saṃpradāyeśvarī
Meaning – She assumes authority over all traditions (sampradaya). She is the queen of all customs and traditions.
Tradition is that which has been passed down the generations.
