Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – Navarātri Series – Day 8, Ashtami – Goddess Chandi – Namasankeertana & discourse in the evening – October 22, 2023 – Mysore

Today, I wanted to go inside my quarters after the program…you know how the body gets tired, but we will do two Bhajans and Hārati and leave.

I came for the sake of this Tabla player! (The table player who has performed in the morning seva has taken over Mahesh’ spot in this evening bhajan).
Today’s new bhajan. Not Sanskrit or any. Just Telugu.

Bhajan 8576

HH explains in Hindi the meaning of the bhajan, and adds, “Telugu speaking people will easily understand the meaning!” – Who is the one who will teach us about the Shakti of Tripura Mata? Is it Trinity or Dattatreya, or Parasurama, or who?

Next Bhajan.

Bhajan ID 7282: yōgasiddhi dē dē durga paramēśvari

(Towards the end of the bhajan, there was a Duel Dance by Mridhanga and Table players, a harmonious mix of beats integrating South and North.)

HH begins a Hindi Bhajan.

Bhajan ID 8578

Tomorrow, after Purnahuti, we’ll do Laksha (1,00,000) Deepa Archana (offering lamp which has 1000 threads in one wick). We will have 100 such Deepa (lamps). Each person can sponsor one Deepa. Only 100 people have the opportunity. Already 40 something are over, so, go, take part as soon as possible.

Harati.

(A devotee couple has offered Sweet somas garland to HH – a snack with perfectly balanced sweet stuffing inside a crisp fried outer layer – dear to Ganapathi and Hanumanji).
