Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji during the Datta Kriya Yoga Teacher’s training session – August 24, 2012 – Mysore
Harihi Om Tat Sat !
There are many books on Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Brahma Sutras and even on Atma Bodha. Many countries are talking about them and in all languages. We find many people practicing them. They are being even demonstrated in TV shows. Even Atma Bodha is being played as Ballets in TV shows. But as per ancient practices, some of these are prohibited to be taught. But since this is Kaliyuga, we should be happy that atleast these sutras are being spoken about. It has become a fashion for some to question that are these prohibited for women ? Why are they restricted for them ? And so on. When you were told not to touch fire, you must trust the person and avoid it. Despite, if you touch, it is up to you and your hands will burn. It is said for your safety. Snake is beautiful, soft and gives nice fragrance like Jasmine. But, will you put it to sleep in your lap ? No. You run away from it. Why do you get away from it ? Here, why don’t you say that all creatures are equal in the creation of God and touch the snake. Far away hills are green. We feel we can climb. But when you go nearer, it is like a forest. You get scared. Then, what appeared as green is a myth ? No. That also is right. Now, at this stage, you get doubts in mind. How much ever you read and by heart, experience is always different. That, which is taught by experience is different from that is taught by study and that is taught by Prerana. How can we believe them is what we feel sometimes. For all this, there is only one solution. For all this, the solution is Swayam Sadhana – Self Practice. The second solution is friendship with those who do Sadhana. This friendship should be only with an intetion to learn from them. You should not get into personal relations with them. Only you must interact with them to the extent required. Do not test the teacher. How much did they study, can he make me understand, how much does he know should not be questioned. We just started and there is a lot to learn. This is a big subject. Many people have put questions. I will answer whenever time permits. All Kriya Yoga teachers are all here. Though they are teachers, they too are students for ever, like Sanaka Sananda. They kept on praising Lord Vishnu and are still doing it. There is no end for Ramayana. Krishna’s stories have no end said Jaya Lakshmi mata in a bhajan. We are holding a thread. Is it a reel of thread or just a thread, what is its length all these should not be questioned. Holding the thread itself is a great fortune.
