Happy Hanumat Jayanthi
Hanuman Jayanthi is celebrated in three different types in three different states in India. We also perform all three Hanuman Jayanthi’s. These are the one that is celebrated in Tamil nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh (names of three different states in India). We are celebrating Uttar Pradesh Hanuman festivities in Karnataka. All these three festivities can be called as Hanumat Vrata or Hanuman Jayanthi. We call it Hanumat Jayanthi or Hanumat Vrata. In India people are very happy about celebrating Hanuman Jayanthi three times. All these three times it is called Hanumat Vrata. During the festivities of Hanumat Vrata one should keep and maintain silence, do fasting or eat food one time in a day. One should refrain from spicy food. Do not eat onions. Many people eat onions white onions or red onions. It smells bad odor. Normally people who practice yoga they should not or do not eat onions and spicy food. Eating Sattvic (sentient) food enhances good/noble qualities on you. Eating Sattvic food makes our sense organs, our mind, our Atman very pure and noble. When you eat onions smelly food, then you see the effect in your sense organs. In addition to you getting upset, it also has effect on your desires, deeds and ignorance. You get upset for no reason. The food you eat brings about unnecessary changes in your mind.
Food is your first enemy. This is the reason why Patanjali Yoga sutra/aphorisms says “ one should be very careful and have restraint on your Achara (behavioral pattern), Vichara (thought process), Vihara (recreation and relaxation which is essential to rejuvenate body and mind)”. We must control our Ahara (food) also. Some people are always eating one thing or another eg: chewing gum. Chewing gum has no problem. But your gums will be affected later. That is your problem. Some people are eating food most of the time. You know animals are eating 18 hours in a day. Animals are very busy eating 18 hours a day. Human beings in India eat 3 times a day.
People who eat 3 times a day are called Rogi- diseased.
People who eat 2 times a day are called Bhogi – indulgent
People who eat one time a day are called Yogi.
Eating four times a day means they are ready to die, such body is called death body.
People who eat 4 times a day they are finished, hogi (ready to go).
Firstly you must control your food. Don’t keep eating all time. No problem if your are eating only Sattvic food. Asattvic (Ragasic – stimulant or Tamasic – sedative) food is not good. First lesson Hanumantha gives is about food. That is why He eats only greenaries and fruits and not cooked food. Normally cooked food is not healthy. Cooked food can be taken after washing with warm water is ok, no problem. In cooked food there are three different types of rice. One is yogi rice it is not easily available. Second one is Ragi (millet). Sri Swamij jokes that the name is millet and not Helen (film star in Hindi Cinema)). Millet is good food. Normally Yogi rice and Millet are good. Normal rice in little quantity is enough or wheat / Roti is best when cooked without oil.
Why is Sri Swamiji today explaining particularly about food? Because when you control your food then yoga is automatically in your hands. Yoga not only means exercise, it is control of our Prana (life force), control of our indriya – sense organs. This the reason why Datta and Hanumantha are yoga Guru’s. Hanuman is adept at both hatha yoga and also Prana yoga. He is master in both forms of yoga. Hatha yoga is controlling of our sense organs in our body. Prana yoga, I know you understand and know about the story about Hanumantha. You know, you understand about prana/prana yoga. We all bow down reverentially, follow and praise Hanumantha. Hanumantha will give you all protection. Hanuman will give protection only when He is praised. Because the curse in His life history. (In life history of Hanuman there is curse given by the sage to Hanuman to forget His strengths in normal circumstances. Hanuman will remember His strengths only when someone praises Him) So no praise, no protection. When praised, Hanumantha remembers His powers and He gives protection. Hanumantha has completely forgotten His powers. Someone should remind Him. “Yaad dilana, yaad dilaneke baat raksha karta hai bhagavan”. “You must make Hanumantha remember His powers only then He protects you.” So you must praise Hanuman. That’s why saying Jai Veer Hanuman ki jai. He likes very much “Hanuman ki Jai“.
Jai Bajarangbali ki jai jai Bajarangbali ki , He likes very much.
Buddhiman ki Jai.
Balwan ki jai.
Yeshwanth ki Jai.
Tejowanth ki jai.
He is very happy. Very simple notes. Ram Bhakt ki Jai. He is very very happy about this. Hanuman is Balwan, Buddhiman, Yeshwan, Tejowan, Chiranjeevi hamesha(always). That is why Sanjeevani, Sanjeevani dhyan ki jai. “Rom Rom may Ram keertan hai Bhagwan ka ” every little hair on His body sings Ram keertan – Bhajans. Even His skin and hairs also sing Rama Rama Rama. I am sure you can chant Ram Ram Ram. In My ashrama My birds always speaking Rama Rama, Datta, Hello Rama Datta. I think you all try to talk less and chant Rama Rama Rama for seven days continuously. On 8th day you can tell me about your experience. You are very happy now. You have forgot your problems and pains. People always thinking about their problems and weeping weeping. Why? You always practice Satvic (sentient). Your Satvic will protect you.
Ok one more program we have. Yesterday I have seen that tablet what is the name? Digital picture play. I have seen yesterday night. I am very happy. Very nice good education. If you sit in front of that you can sit continuously we cannot leave. Different music .different voice, different environment, different videos. Ah ! very good. American devotees from one area are making Appaji stamps. Post office stamps. It works in America only. Remember it is a collection item. I will give to some IT volunteers. They can go around. If somebody wants pictures, Date of birth pictures we have. You total the entire date of your birth in single digit. The final digit of the total should be a single digit number. You can total only date or month or complete date of birth total. Some people calculate their own year month and date. As you like. You can total as you like. If you have 30, then it is 3+0= 3. 11 Means 1+1=2, 2. Its Sankhya sashtra (Science fo Numerology). Numerology go and sell (Sri Swamij is advising someone). Stamps have to come. In the meanwhile Brahmadev Narayan will give little bit advice to people.
