Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji in the morning – May 26, 2014 – Mysore
The descriptive names of God that we offer to Him during worship ritual, whether they are 108 as in Ashtottarasatanama, 300 as in Trisati, or 1000 as in Sahasranama, represent each of the divine attributes of the deity. Similarly, the eminent personages assembled on this stage today, each represents a name of God that describes His specific excellence in a particular field. The names contain all the power and glory of God. These individuals have been chosen by a committee appointed by Sri Swamiji, and not by his own personal recommendation. Those who are most famous are known to the whole world regardless of our offering them recognition. Here, some hidden talents have been brought to light. This adoration offered to human excellence in service offered in various fields is accompanied with a prayer to Lord Dattatreya to bless each of them with strength, devotion, and persistence to further enhance their services to humanity at large. Mother Goddess Saraswati is expressing Herself through the personalities of each of these recipients of special awards of recognition today. We are all indeed extremely fortunate to be in the presence of divinity manifesting itself in human form, not as one but several individuals all assembled on the stage of this venerable Nada Mantapa on this special day which celebrates the Brahmotsava of Sri Datta Venkateswara, the anniversary of Nada Mantapa and the Birthday of Sadguru.
