Lalita Sahasranama meanings per name
621. Divya-Vigrahā
Meaning – She has a divinely shaped body.
With this the Brahma-vidya upadesha, that began at nama 583, ends. Now the initiation into the Bālatripura sundari-vidya begins.
622. Klīṁkārī
Meaning – Kleem is Her seed letter (beejakshara).
Kleem is known as ‘Kāmaraaja beejam’ as it not only fulfils all the desires (kāma) of the individual but also grants the highest of all desires i.e. liberation.
The term Kāmaraja signifies its connection to Lord Shiva (Kāmeshwara). Kāma is the seed letter of Lord Shiva. As the Divine Mother resides in the form of this seed letter, She is Kleemkāri.
‘Kleem’ exists in the middle portion (madhya koota) of Balatripura Devi’s mantra.
This name is alternatively pronounced as ‘Kleemkari’. When pronounced thus, Kleemkari should be understood to mean ‘She who causes Kleem within us’. What is Kleem? Kleem is composed of 3 alphabets (aksharas) in it- ‘Ka, La and Ee (or Eem)’. Among them, ‘Ka’ represents Paramatma (Supreme being or soul), ‘La’ represents the earth element. ‘La’ includes all the individual beings on earth and thus stands for the Jeevatma (individual soul).
‘Eem’ is Lakshmi Devi- the wealth of knowledge. This can be understood from the Sree Suktam, wherein Lakshmi Devi is glorified as- Padmineem ‘eem’ sharanamaham prapadye.
This clarifies that ‘eem’ is Lakshmi Devi’s (Padmini’s) seed letter.
‘Kleem’ thus signifies the union of the individual being (jeevatma) and the Paramatma (Supreme being) through the medium of Lakshmi Devi. Lakshmi stands for aishwarya (wealth, prosperity). In this case it is the wealth of knowledge that acts as the medium.
623. Kevalā
Meaning – She is one without a second. She alone exists.
After the absorption of the entire creation, that form in which He finally remains is His true form. At that hour Parabrahma is all-alone. This re-iterates that Paramatma is the only true existence. Apart from Him, everything else is His creation.
‘Namas trimurtaye tubhyam prak-srishthe kevaldtmane’ – Here kevalātma means Paramatma.
624. Guhyā
Meaning –
a) She is the most secretive knowledge or tattva.
Atma-vidya (the knowledge of self-realization) is the most secretive knowledge. Its secretiveness is to prevent its misuse and to ensure that it does not fall into the hands of the undeserving and foolhardy.
The Divine Mother grants this knowledge purely to those who truly deserve; who have complete faith and who are intensely seeking to learn it.
After completion of the japa, the following prayer is offered to the Lord –
Guhyāti guhya goptree tvam grahānasmat krtam japam
Siddhir bhavatu deveshi tvat prasadat mayisthirā.
Meaning – You are the protector of all that which is deeply secretive and confidential. Please accept my japam, O Divine Mother. Please grace and bless me to achieve spiritual accomplishment and stable intellect.
b) Guhya also implies that She resides in the guha (cave) called the heart.
625. Kaivalyapada-dāyinī
Meaning – She bestows absolute liberation (kaivalya), which is the ultimate goal of yoga.
Kaivalya means absolute unity, detachment, and isolation. Kevala sthithi (the non- dual state, the state of being alone) is itself kaivalya. In deep samadhi, there is no companion, no other thought and no other desire. It is a non-dual (kaivalya) state and can be achieved purely through Her grace.
626. Tripurā
Meaning – She exists even before creation of the triad and hence is Tripura. She creates the Tripura (triad).
Tripura stands for three purās (forts). Trikona and Triputi are its synonyms.
Murti trayasāt tripurā tanatvāt tadambikāyā tripureti nāma
Meaning – As She existed even prior to the existence of the Trinity, She is Tripura.
Sarvam trayam trayam yasmāt tasmāt sā Tripura vadha.
Meaning – Everything in this world comes under the triad.
We have many examples of triad such as dhyanam, dhyatr, dhyeya or sadhana, sadhaka, siddha.
With proper analysis it will be clear that everything in this world falls under a set of 3. The sum total of all the triads- all the sets of 3 such as trigunas (sattva, rajas, tamo), the 3 states of existence (waking, dream and deep sleep states) etc. comprise of Tripura. Creation beings with the formation of the Tripuras. Each component within this triad further divides itself into a triad (a set of 3 gunas or components). Thus the original triad can be said to be consisting of 9 subdivisions (3*3). 9 thus assumes great significance in our tradition.
627. Trijagad vandyā
Meaning – She is truly revered and worshipped in all the three planes (lokas, tri jagad).
The three planes are Satya loka (abode of Brahma), Vaikuntha (abode of Vishnu) and Kailasa (abode of Shiva) or Bhu, Bhuvah and Suvah.
Although there are seven planes of existence they are all embodied under the 3 classifications of Bhur, Bhuvah, and Svah. Bhu represents earth (physical plane). Bhuvah represents the sky (astral plane). Svah represents heaven (mental plane). Bhur, bhuvah, and svah indicate the totality of all levels of existence in the universe.
628. Trimurtiḥ
Meaning – She manifests as the trinity- Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
These forms are Her creations and She has entrusted responsibilities of creation, sustenance and dissolution respectively to them.

629. Tridaśeśvarī
Meaning – She is the ruler (Ishwari) for the Tri-dashas (the 3 stages).
The 3 states of waking (jaagrat), dream (swapna) and deep sleep (shushupti) are known as the tridashas. The stages of childhood, youth and old age are also the Tridashas.
630. Tryakṣarī
Meaning – She is in the form of 3 aksharas (alphabets).
