971. Suvāsinyarchana-prītā

Meaning- She loves when worship is offered to Suvasini (married) women.

972. Āśobhanā

Meaning- Āshobhanā stands for ‘āsamantāt Shobhana’i.e. the state of incomparable bliss (Brahmānandā).

She enjoys this supreme bliss and bestows such bliss upon Her devotees.

The name ‘Shobhana’ recurs thrice in this Sahasranama. The first is in Subruh Shobhana suranayika. At this point She bestows worldly bliss (loukika ananda). Here She bestows the Supreme bliss i.e. the bliss enjoyed by Brahma.

973. Śuddhamānasā

Meaning- She has a pure untainted mind and She blesses us with a pure mind and good thoughts.

974. Bindu-tarpaṇa-santuṣṭā

Meaning-

a) Seated at the top most portion of the Srichakra, known as the Bindu sthana (position of the top-most peak), She is satiated with all the offerings (tarpana) made to Her.

The word tarpana refers to offerings. Srichakra upasakas offer tarpana at each of the Chakras. The offerings at the spot of the bindu are very dear to Her.

b) She is satiated with just a trifle/meager offerings (bindu, drop) provided it is with pure devotion.

975. Pūrvajā

Meaning- She exists even before the creation of the Trinity; She is Purvaja (ancient).

It is also read as Apurvaja. Apurva refers to that which is unprecedented or unequalled. Here Apurvaja states that the devotee is blessed with unprecedented and unmatched punya (merit). She is born out of such Apurva punya.

976. Tripurāmbikā

Meaning- She is Mother Tripura.

977. Daśamudrā-samārādhyā

Meaning- She is worshipped with the 10 mudras that are offered to Her at the end of the worship.

Mudra binds the nādis (astral nerves) in the body. These nādis have their ending at the fingertips. When two fingers touch each other, two different nādis-streams merge. An unseen vibration flows within us at such times. Each mudra supplies different vibration and different energy. Simha mudra, Kacchapi mudra, Kechari mudra are all names of different commonly heard mudras.

At the end of Srichakra puja or Navavarana puja She is worshipped with 10 mudras starting from Samkshobini mudra to Trikhanda mudra. These mudras have to be taken as an initiation from a Guru and then practiced.

978. Tripura-śrivaśaṃkarī

Meaning- She has kept the Goddess Tripura-Sri under Her sway (Vasha), hence She is Tripura-Srivashamkari.

Tripura-Sri is the Devi who controls the 5th chakra.

979. Jñānamudrā

Meaning- She is the Jnana Mudra, also known as chin mudra.

This is a very prominent mudra and has many hidden significances. Lord Shiva as Dakshinamurty, wears the Chin mudra. This Mudra symbolizes the unification of the individual soul (Jeevatma) and Supreme soul (Paramatma); the dissolution of the trigunas and so on.

980. Jñānagamyā

Meaning- She can be achieved purely through knowledge (Jnana).

The statement ‘Jnana devahi kaivalyam’ means ‘Only through pure knowledge can the Supreme be known’.

Only pure knowledge can give permanent bliss. There is nothing in this creation that stands superior to such knowledge. For this reason one should pray to the Supreme to bless with Jnana. Jnana is Lakshmi and it is pure prosperity. To secure knowledge one should be truly humble and true student. Even trivial knowledge received from a small child or tiny facts found in torn paper pieces should be regarded, understood and read.
