Today’s Kriya Yoga session was good. Those who are attending the course must practice. It will be very beneficial to them. Kriya Yoga is an easy method. Swamiji teaches to them in a childlike approach. Pranayama, Nadis & Shat Chakras were described. If Anagha Devi blesses and Sadguru guides them they will reach the pinnacle. The meanings of Hamsa and Paramahamsa were described, the state of being in the ever bliss (not sensual bliss or intellectual bliss). You get bliss or happiness when a child is born. Your happiness grows with the growth of the child. You are happier with the pranks of that child. When the child attends school, you get happier. When the child makes or breaks friends, when it wins medals in games, when it succeeds in schools, participates in debates, you are happier. You notice that the child is now less and less attached to you. You also notice that they have their priorities and start loving someone more than you or more than you expect your child to love you. See the affection of the child has transferred from its mother to school, to friends, to a lover! Their interests keep shifting from wife to cars, other girl or boys, etc. There the love affair could be stormy, but whatever, the soul adjusts… and adopts to a marriage, family life. Then in family life, business, illnesses, car breakdowns, problems in business, etc., etc., bothers you. Then you look for doctors, guides, teachers, Gurus, etc. All this in search of happiness and bliss. Such happiness is dealt at length in Adhyatma Ramayana. It was written by Vyasa not Valmiki. Rama when 8 years old, gets the mood of renunciation. Then he was advised by Vasishta, his family sage. If we get such renunciation in early age, then we will be less attached to the areas from where we expect happiness. Such wrong Karma was experienced by a famous sage Shuka, son of Vyasa. He was an ascetic and renounced person since a small age. But Vyasa advises him to marry and lead a family life. Then Vyasa advises his son to go to King Janaka and learn Yoga. Shuka was surprised as to why he should learn Yoga from a materialistic king. But not to go against his father’s wishes, he goes to the court of Janaka. He had to wait for 7 days for an appointment. Then, Janaka made Shuka enjoy all luxuries for 7 days and then met him and asks him why he (Shuka), a great Yogi, has come. Shuka was surprised. why is the king behaving so? He ponders “My father sent me to learn Yoga from him, but he is calling me a great Yogi. What is this?” Then Shuka and Janaka have an intellectual debate. It is one of the finest Vedantic and Yogic discussions. The gist of their discussions lead to the understanding that listening to the advice of one’s father & leading a life of non-attachment to ties will lead to bliss and happiness. Later Shuka marries and begets several powerful and scholarly children.
The lives of sages are examples as to how we should lead family life. The attachment to the family should be like the water top on a lotus flower. Shuka was considered as a Brahma who attained Parama Hamsa. The attachment, any attachment should be wafer thin and prepared for the worst. We have many many instances of people leading such lives. You can get liberation even being in a family life. You need not run away to mountains of forests and do penance for liberation. Such discussion was held in Kriya Yoga classes today. Later Swamiji composed a bhajan.
Sri Swamiji sings “Kundalini Margalaku Je Je Lu”
Practice Pranayama properly. It helps you. Muladhara is red in color and Ganapati is the god. This four petalled Chakra belongs to the earth element (of the five elements). So it deals with the problems of life and family, sorrow and earthly matters.
The second Chakra is in the region of the genitals and has water as Tattva. Vishnu is the god, Vam is the Beejakshara…Six petals….It deals with showing off. I am this…I am that…I know Ramayana, I know Maha Bharata etc. etc. All hollow claims. Even a tape recorder plays a cassette of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Will it get Moksha? Its head will get Moksha.
The third Chakra is Manipuraka Chakra. Agni is Tattva. Ten petals. Rudra is the God. Pham is the Beejakshara. It is in the region of the naval. This shows as if you get interest in spiritual affairs but it is a temporary feature. This happens to many. Many get interest in spirituality in their youth but lose interest as they get older. Many youths come to Swamiji. They show extraordinary interest but a short-lived interest. They get frustrated with trifling things like volunteers etc. Yes it is their duty to ensure discipline. What do you expect? To be received with honor at the entrance and shown a seat in the front? That is impossible. You will never get royal treatment. If you want Swamiji, adjust… otherwise, pray in your house. Many have left Swamiji blaming the attitudes and actions of volunteers. You will lose. Swamiji will never lose anyone. If one leaves, ten come. You may be close to Swamiji, but protocol and discipline come before your relationship. Feeling jealous also will not help. If you get jealous with the musicians on this stage, what can they do? Their duty is this…that is to play. Your duty is to listen. You get such thoughts and doubts only when your devotion and love decreases. You need a small small reason to blame on the establishment and administration. If you need Swamiji, then you don’t care for any inconvenience. If everything is well, you get all these thoughts. You will never be praised or flattered. You will be praised the day you become Hanumanta, Markandeya, Harshchandra, Karna, Meerabai. Your ego and pride brings you doom. Coming to Swamiji will kill all these unwanted heat and waste. Your bad features are so hot that Swamiji sometimes considers if he should help you. Those who are far find it easy. Those close have to be careful. That donkey-like anger, ego, etc., have to be killed. Then only admission is here. Seniority of devotion never counts. If Swamiji calls someone close, he or she needs help more than you. Many come to conclusions and decide before ascertaining facts. That is wrong. All this is the work of this Manipuraka Chakra. The above is more for Datta devotees.
The fourth Chakra is red in color, Shiva is the god. Gam is the Beejakshara, twelve petals. Its beejakshara is Yam. It is called Anahata and is in the region of heart. It belongs to Vayu Tattva. From this Chakra starts Yoga life. Till the third Chakra is the baseness of qualities in life. From the fourth Chakra. It helps those who do Pranayama. It corrects many deficiencies.
The fifth is in the throat region. Smoky colored, sixteen petals. Sadashiva is the God. It is Vishuddha Chakra. It preserves the bliss emanating from the fourth Chakra. It is like a bank of conserving the energies from the heart. It is like a station. That energy travels to the region between the eye brows.
Bad feelings are limited to the below three Chakras (i.e. 1st, 2nd and 3rd). The life above fourth is another Janma.
The sixth is Ajna Chakra, 20 petals, white colored, Om is the beejakshara, twenty petals. It acts as a channel to the last place in Yoga, Sahasrara. The description of Sahasrara is not to be given. Because it defies description. Such is the power. One only should experience.
Sri Swamiji sings Kannada bhajan “Pranayamadi Yogada Tattvavu…”
Sri Swamiji sings Marathi language Bhajan “Naachoongi Mein…”
Meera, the great devotee, got into devotional ecstasy and used to jump around dancing inside her house. She meditated, danced, did whatever she liked. She did not come out fearing she may be called as a mad lady. To get to such ecstasy is a blessing. It does not come easy as you get sorrow or depression. Meera had to go through many troubled times. But did she care? No. Never. She hid her devotion. No show-off. We want microphone, advertisement, show-off. This is the order of the day. All you care is if your devotion is exhibited and admired by others or not.
Tomorrow is a special day. A full moon day. Pavamana Homa will be performed. Sri Chakra puja also will be in the evening with the homa. Morning we are going to Jai Durga Teertham riverside for a programme with Kriya Yoga students.
Sri Swamiji sings Telugu bhajan “Swamiye Ayyappo, Swami Ayyappa…”
Sri Swamiji sings “Kaayena Vaacha…”
