You must respect that language and learn that language. I think Islamic language is musical language. I think there are so many Sanskrit words in Islamic language. Why we must learn? Because you are working and taking salary in this country. You must learn Islamic language. You must learn the Islamic National song. That is very important. When we go to some other place or house, we must respect their household procedures and customs. On the contrary we open the refrigerator and drink water in a shabby way. Disturbing the items placed in their showcase in their house. Tuning their television in your choicest way. Creating disturbance while using their bathroom. Just as we save our self-respect we must respect the place (be it house or other place) were we go. Before they catch hold of our nose and teach discipline, we must follow discipline ourselves. You must follow the rules and regulations of Islamic Dhrama then you are very happy.
Bhagavat Gita instructs us to learn all the dharmas. Meanwhile the mike makes a lot of sound. Sri Swamiji calls this mike as “Mikasura “ (demon in mike form like ravanasura). Sri Krishna in Bhagavat Gita says “sarva dharma parityajya mam ekam sharanam vrajamyaham” meaning leave all the dharmas and surrender to Me. It means you must know all dharmas. Sri Krishna will tell to leave all dharmas and surrender to Me to only those people who know all dharmas. Sri Krishna will not tell the same to the person who does not know all dharmas. Sri Krishna is telling the above assuming that human beings know it. Only on surrender you will get the Paramatma tattva. I think you can sacrifice all the dharmas??? What is this Vishwaroopam? What is this Paramatma? What is the Atman? Otherwise, you cannot understand. Then you must practice at least the gist line of other dharmas.
What is dharma? Dharma is not to be confused with charity. It is not definition of dharma. Human being abiding by the righteous code of conduct set for human beings. That is dharma. From time to time you must practice the righteous code of conduct set for human beings. You practice things in an untimely way. For e.g. when children see films pertaining to adults, it is not dharma. Adharma means from time to time, practicing contrary things to the righteous code of conduct set for human beings. Practicing things that are not contrary to righteous code of conduct set for human beings is dharma. If you remember this tiny bit of information, it is useful and sufficient. There are so many definitions about dharma. At times there is lot of confusion about understanding dharma. However, it is very easy to understand dharma. It is tough to understand dharma. It is not necessary to explain about dharma. You must practice yourself dharma. Go into meditation. I think you can think about yourself, about Atman. Daily meditate for 2 minutes. Control your mind and sense organs. Control your desires. When you control your desires, then that subject will give Vairagya – detachment. Be humble, peaceful and be satisfied. That is devotion, bhakti. When you learn about Guru, that is Jnana – knowledge. Without Guru you can’t understand anything. While practicing your social activities also you can learn about Guru. Practicing dharma leads to bhakti, jnana, and vairagya. This is dharma. You should practice about the three bhakti, jnana, and vairagya. Some people practice vairagya directly (not in a gradual manner).
Tomorrow I will sacrifice everything. That is only a temporary vairagya. After listening to puranas/epics or Guru Tattva, you are over enthusiastic. You in a flow say, “I will give everything to Sri Swamiji “. Only for few minutes. When you build a new house, you say Sri Swamiji this house is ours. Then Sri Swamiji says “ give it to me “. Then what will you do? You must say Sri Swamiji I am here because of you grace. You must not say “ all is yours”. The feeling of offering “ all is your Sri Swamiji “ will come in last. It is very difficult to get such kind of feeling of offerings. Therefore, when you follow dharma bhakti, jnana and vairagya will definitely come automatically.
Why are we taking birth again? What is this cycle of births? You can’t understand this cycle. So many puranas, Upanishads, Guru Discourse you are listening for hours and days together. You are also listening and learning for months and years. However, you forget completely all that is told after 5 minutes of discourse. Again you practice things at human level. Why? It is because of Kama. Kama means desires, unsatisfaction. Kama does not mean the husband and wife relationship. It is Gruhastashrama dharma (the righteous code of conduct for household). See dharma is defined in so many ways. It is difficult to understand about dharma. But Sri Swamiji says it is very easy to understand dharma. Why? Because it depends upon your attitude, practice, your conduct that is followed in your lifestyle. You must make the necessary changes in the above said things. You must change yourself little bit then automatically you get satisfaction. But you don’t want to change. Because you need or want permanent sorrow. Sorrow sorrow… diseases to the body, the sorrow of ocean of samsara. You like very much the aforesaid sorrows. You like horror movie very much. Thrill thrill thrill. You want thrill always. Why? If you go to thrill then think about thrill, think about confusion, and think about unsatisfaction. Sorrow is automatically solved. You never sit idle. You keep thinking. God has given a life with satisfaction but we don’t want to be well. You sit in a sofa and then think about things that happened 20 years back. In My marriage, then, my mother-in-law said like that, nice she died and must be in hell now. It is long time she has passed away. Why you think that now? Why do you think now? You do not need it now. How can she say like that? Now you have 5 children. They are ready for marriage. Speaking this in front of your children. You want sorrow. You are jealous seeing others happy. Your stomach burns with pain seeing their happiness. You spoil their happiness by saying your sorrow to them. In this way you pain them. Seeing them in pain, you are happy thinking that I have done my work.
Practice silence first. Silence lead to vairagya. Sri Swamiji has told three important things bhakti, jnana, and vairagya. We have subjects on vairagya. We must practice those subjects. You don’t practice anything of paramount importance. You think of two girls are born, now one boy. After boy then one more girl would be good. This is sorrow. One point of time you did not have children. We don’t have satisfaction. I have earned so much money. Would be good if I could earn a bit more. You must be satisfied telling yourself that God has given me so much I need to help others. We do not want this satisfaction. We want sorrow satisfaction. We accumulate all the things needed for sorrow. We do not accumulate things for happiness. We presume that we will live for 200 yrs. or so, lse he will not get sleep. This will result in sorrow.
After 75 years, you build a new house. Your parents are in your grandfather’s old house. Your children are in America. Now you think why I built this big house. Who asked you to build house? You must build the house in appropriate time. Nevertheless, at time your mind is more focused on earning more and more money. That is the right time to build the house in a small way. We plan after 60 years. For who? After spending so much on the house, you want to sell it but do not find buyers. Another sorrow is the person who wants to buy your house asks it for a lower price. You are happy on the house warming ceremony for the new house and sad for selling the house. You take lot troubles and tensions to send your son to America for which you are happy until he boards the flight. Just as he is about to board the flight, you are in deep sorrow again because he is leaving you and going. He will fall in love with someone there, chapter closed. Then why did you work so hard? On the day he is boarding the flight you are sad, why? Then you think why did I give birth to this child? Only 2 minutes happiness and sadness. Only temporary feelings. Oh thank god my work is done. Small work you cannot do? My child has got good score but got 2 marks less in mathematics. Sorrow, again no satisfaction. Today I had a delicious meal but there is no sambar? Eating sambar is like being in Vaikuntha. You had delicious meal but no sambar, no satisfaction? Not having sambar spoiled your satisfaction? This is where jnana comes into picture. You run behind Swamiji to make offerings. You think I have made these offerings, now I have to make those offerings.
People wonder why are these people going to God and yet crying. The reason is no satisfaction. You say I want to die. Why do you think of dying? Do not bother about dying because it is a seasoned ticket. We must cry for God. Instead, we cry for money, marriage, children etc. Lord Krishna in Bhagavat Gita told, no one cries for me. If you cry for me, you will get salvation. You will not come into this sorrow filled birth cycle. Do you know what Ramana Maharishi did? He was suffering from cancer. Inspite of Ramana Maharishi saying no to the doctors from Germany, they operated. Ramana Maharishi woke up in middle of night and asked: “what is this bandage”? The disciples told: “the doctors have operated upon you and removed the cancer.” Ramana Maharishi told, “The doctors did a mistake”. Ramana Maharishi again put the removed part in the body. The doctors said it is dangerous to do like this. Ramana Maharishi said I would not escape my destiny for you. If I escape now I have to take one more birth and pay for this deed. You will be born somewhere and I will be born somewhere. One more birth, next birth is a very big cancer. I will pay for the deed in this birth only. How big saint Ramana Maharishi is. He has shown it in practice. We cannot do this. It is very difficult for us. It is more than sufficient if we follow these simple things.
1. We must be satisfied with what God has given you. Now that you are satisfied, you must do some service to God for His satisfaction also.
2. You must make it a habit to adjust with what God has given to you. If more comes by itself, then let it come. Until your life ends, do not be in sorrow. Be happy. Because human life is very rare and precious. Do not worry if God will take care of you? God gave GURU. To get Guru is NOT easy. Once you get Guru, then don’t be stupid enough to leave Him. Do not link Guru with your mundane life issues. Do not question Sri Swamiji why did you not do this for me, in spite I am doing that for you, etc. Swamiji wants true and pure devotion, not business devotion. I have given this much. Swamiji you give some to me. This is not good. Swamiji, you have given me the opportunity and strength to me to make these offerings. It is your creation and not my creation. Swamiji you have given me so much, I offer you this much. This is devotion /bhakti. Bhakti, Jnana and Vairagya is very easy to practice. Without steadfast mind, the count of japa mala is of no avail.
I am very happy. Swamiji wanted to go via Singapore, coming to Dubai is your luck. I am happy that we have a school. It also has a playground. Satsang is His Divine sankalpa. I bless the school, school management, and children. Today meditation classes for children have started. Children here are interested in meditation. Parents are not interested in meditation. Parents and teachers should also be interested in meditation. Pranayama can be practiced. Our food is different. Pranayama will give good health. Nowadays lot of heart problems. 80% people are having heart problem. Pranayama solves cough problems. Automatically you will get good health. Swimming is also good for health.
