Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – Siddha Yoga Raga Sagara – April 25, 2015 – Pune

Harihi Om Tatsat.

RSVK’s production, Devi CD, and the book – The Divine Satsangh with Guruji Sri Rishi Prabhakarji written by Arundhati Ma were released by Sri Swamiji. This concert by Sri Swamiji is in honor of the departed disciple of Sri Swamiji, Sri Rishi Prabhakarji on the occasion of his Sraddhanjali offering by his disciples and followers

My relationship with Rishi Prabhakar cannot be described in words. Such a soul-friend and relative he is. He would do research on every Upadesa (spiritual advice) that was given by Swamiji. He would explore into the deeper meaning. His relationship with me is not just at the music level but at the soul level. That is why I urge everyone, that whatever Sri Rishi Prabhakar has taught you and all his followers, about how to lead this human life, and how this journey over this ocean called Samsara should be conducted, be followed. He had given advice from different angles on different aspects. Without fail, you must follow his guidance. Don’t forget his words. You should share the lessons which you have learned from him with all those whom you know, your children, friends, relatives and acquaintances. He has taught about our ancient, valuable Dharma. To the question of how to lead a perfect life, he has given a different kind of meaning. His words are not to be forgotten. Veda,Nada, and Yoga aspects are all included in his teachings. He has given advice on how to overcome mental turbulence. There are always many small conflicts occurring. We are all small children before God. None of us is greater than Lord Siva.

We are all tiny tots. We must give up our ego. We must follow, not the intellect, but our conscience. Whatever your soul or conscience tells you, you should follow that. The soul, intellect and the sense organs must work together. Word, action, thought must work in harmony. Then success is achieved. Sometimes the words uttered do not follow what the heart says. Sometimes the feelings felt are not what the soul endorses. The body is troubled with diseases. The mind is troubled due to wrong guidance. When there is harmony between thought, word, and deed, then things go well. Otherwise, the body becomes ill.

I heard a few hours ago the news about the terrible earthquake that has occurred in Nepal today. Many have lost their lives and many are injured. I offer prayers to all those who have suffered in this major calamity. Many have become orphaned. I pray to Lord Datta. I pray also to Lord Datta to give strength to mind and body of all the friends, relatives, and followers of Rishi Prabhakar to preserve and follow his spiritual legacy.
I offer prayers for the disciples and followers of Rishi Prabhakar that they must follow his teachings. He and I have discussed many times about Siddha Yoga for hours at a time. We have discussed about the benefits of achieving Siddhis.

Most people are leading worldly lives, engaged in family and business dealings. Sometimes unless one deceives, one cannot earn one’s livelihood in this world. By merely closing the eyes and the nostrils and doing Pranayama alone, nothing can be achieved. It is the duty of the one who resides in this body, to protect the body. Sadhana is performed in many ways with Pranayama, asanas, and so on. But once in the body, we have to act, using the body, and protecting the body. We are all puppets in the hands of God. God holds the puppet strings. We must dedicate some thought to God who runs this puppet show.

One day, we have to leave this body and this world. We must question the purpose of our lives. We must inquire about God. Who is He? What is my duty? What should I be thinking about? This is not difficult Vedanta. It is very easy, this spiritual topic. So many people think that spirituality is difficult to understand and practice. Don’t think like that, that it is tough to follow. It is a mistake. You feel like that because you are lazy sometimes. That is why you do not even make an attempt. You must make an attempt to understand. At an advanced age people regret having wasted their entire life in ignorance. Suddenly at age 90 they get spiritually awakened after studying the Bhagavad Gita and other scriptures. At that age they get a feel for who they really are, and what their relationships with their spouse and children mean. Then they ask questions like, after this body, which place are we going to?

We have no address from the past life, and no address of the future life. That is why, right now, in this lifetime itself, whatever little knowledge God has given us, we must utilize it to explore further. You must begin your spiritual life now. It is not a fashion, it is not a drill, it is not merely physical exercise. Of course, exercise is also there. But it is not all. Who am I? is the big question in your life. Enquire about it. You need to achieve that knowledge. That is Siddhi.

Nada is in our system as our breath. Our inhalation and exhalation contain Nada. Soham sound as you breathe, you have heard. You concentrate on that. The principle of the Supreme Entity, Parabrahman is contained in that sound of inhalation and exhalation. In that sound is Nada. Study this Nada. The soul, the mind, and the sense organs, all of them get cleansed and purified by that practice of listening to Nada. Rishi Prabhakar has practiced this. He has done Nada Upasana by listening with concentration. It is not necessary to play an instrument. All the essence of the Vedas is in Nada. Raga Ragini Nada Yoga is the secret science of Music Therapy. It cannot be described or taught to others easily. I cannot do it. It is the nectar of immortality. Its taste cannot be described. Simply drink it. Do not analyze it.

Do not research about the origin of the Guru principle or the source of Guru, God, or a sacred river such as the Ganga.

Even dirty water gets mixed with Ganga water. Once you get doubts that the water may be dirty and you feel disgusted, then your faith gets disturbed. Your devotion gets distorted and contaminated. The source of parents, do not research. There is great danger in it. In every subject, you will find small contradictions. Once you begin to get involved in the controversies, your spiritual pursuit gets disturbed. That is why do not research the source.
Rishi Prabhakar has some favorite ragas. He used to request me to play those. These tunes give good vibrations for Yoga and Meditation.

Mother Arundhati Mataji is also here. She is my mother. I always am concerned about her wellbeing. She also knows about Siddhi. She is a Siddhi Yogini. In a human body when one is born, the senses operate, no doubt, and there are aches and pains. I am very happy that the intimate associates of Rishi Prabhakar are here. The book has been released. I am very happy. He likes some of the different ragas. I want to play and show the real experience of music. This is not music for enjoyment and appreciation with applause. This music is to be experienced. Music for our nourishment and health is different. It is not for clapping. It is a different concert today. It is not a lesson concert for healing. I begin now. You may sleep if you wish. This is not a lesson concert, like the concert given in Sydney. Today’s concert is a Meditation Concert. It is a good experience. Only sound therapy will occur. Punarvasu star, Vishnu’s star today, and Saptami is the lunar phase, the seventh day.

Song – Pranava svaroopam – Raga Rishyaketupriya
Song – Re mana re re mana jhoomata gavo hari ke guna – Raga Hindola
In this Raga Sagara, the second Raga.
Song – Saptamatruka in Raga Kokilam – This is a Meditation Raga.

Rishi Prabhakar loves this raga and he loves Hindolam also. He especially would ask for two or three ragas. Even if I had played the same ragas the previous day, he would ask for them again and again. Later on, I will play one more Raga.

All kinds of diseases of the nervous system, legs, knee pains, back pain, especially, are helped by Raga Kokilam. So many people suffer from those pains. This Raga will help you.

Song – Gana gana mrogedu

Raga Vaasanti helps with breathing, asthma, gastric, and heart problems. It also helps in Meditation. Sun Raga. You may listen to it early in the morning or before going to bed. The sounds are good. This only looks like a synthesizer. We have changed everything in it, with mixing, and sampling and adding nature sounds.
Each sound makes a specific nerve respond to it. One nerve may be weak. Another nerve may be dead. Dead nerves are revived by these specific sounds.

There are 72,000 nerves in the body. That is why we mix sounds. American and European people are researching and experimenting with this Raga and other Ragas, and with the mixing of different sounds. The synthesizer only helps.

Songs – Namo namo ganapataye and Narahari sundari Jayalakshmi in Raga Dharmavati.
Now the final Raga for today, Dharmavati, specially for skin disease, eye problem, and sinusitis. The sounds are effective.

Some people suffer from chronic diseases and allergies. Skin problems and sinusitis problems. They change doctors and systems of medicine and still do not find relief. This raga Dharmavati is effective. We have researched this Raga. Some sounds may be harsh and your ears may not appreciate them. Some sounds are very pleasing. That is the way of treating and massaging the nerves. Close your eyes and listen. Sleep if you can. Make an attempt to sleep while listening to this Raga. I know it is very hot. But still, just try.

(The last part of the concert videos posted on Yoga Sangeeta are still only buffering and not playing. Hence, the summery is left incomplete for now. Sorry.)
