Speeches of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – August 29, 2015 – KSHT Frisco, TX USA

Speech in the morning

For the new organization, ‘SGS Birds Paradise,’ for bird related activities in USA, a core committee has been appointed with bird enthusiasts, Jayesh Thakkar, Srinivas Chundu, Srinivas Kodavatiganti, and Bhuvana Badarinath. The website was inaugurated by Sri Swamiji. Everyone has a chance to subscribe as patrons to support its aim and activities.

Mostly devotees from America have helped to construct the Shuka Vana. They are helping also to maintain it. Shuka Vana was built at a cost of five crores or fifty million rupees. A similar cost was incurred to build the specialized Bird Hospital – a total of 100 million rupees.

Food for the birds is expensive. Daily one lakh (100,000) rupees Swamiji gets when He is in Mysore just to purchase bird food to feed the 1200 plus birds in the aviary. These four months Swamiji has spent here, He has suffered a loss of that one lakh rupees per day.

Swamiji has to be a miser to handle and execute so many successful programs. He does Puja, business activities, and spiritual programs and teaching. Food does not flow from the walls or ceiling. To be able to feed so many families of birds and humans, Swamiji has to be business minded.

In Shuka Vana there are thirty college degree-holding volunteer workers. Except three persons. The families gave their children away to Swamiji to serve Him. They have gladly allowed them to come and stay in the ashram to care for the birds. Many are unmarried and have no family responsibilities. Some married. No children. All they want in life is to serve Swamiji. Only one couple had two children after coming there. They are all well trained in Computer science, Lab science, and so on. Swamiji tried for six months to send them back home. They refused to leave. They care for birds as if they were human infants. Swamiji uses the services of an outside Veterinary doctor and now Dr. Dasari Srilakshmi, an Ayurvedic doctor has also been trained to take care of birds. The staff get some living expenses. Swamiji had arranged for the required funds. I say it so proudly about the qualifications, talents, and services of these children. Just like you brag and talk of your children, their achievements, and concerns. I also speak like that. You worry about your car, your house, and sometimes mention that you are just now entering the field of spirituality. Like a familyman I speak when I speak about the birds.

Swamiji does not show such involvement with any other project. Only about birds. Speaks about them like a family affair. The birds are His own family members. Also He is concerned about the people who sacrifice their interests and time to protect the parrots. The parrots are my past life devotees. How can they talk like that otherwise? They speak so many words and mantras not because of Swamiji’s power but because of their past life remembrances. On their own, they come to Swamiji saying, Appaji, I love You, how are you? Sometimes they tell me their name. Give information, which sounds strange.

I must develop the facilities in Shuka Vana. Build cottages. I have begun the procedure. Purchase Life and Health Insurance for the volunteers. Clothes. Fixed deposits for their future security, all government approved schemes. If some should leave for any reason, they may be replaced by others. Except for personal health insurance, all other facilities will be transferred to the new volunteer. Worldly amenities are a requirement.

Food for birds, the devotees bring. Toys also for the birds. Food is very costly. Feathers are healthy and the heart remains healthy if good, nutritious food is given. We have some disabled birds, lacking certain limbs. I take care of them as if they are my life partners. I stick by them for life. I cannot desert them. As if bound by concrete, my relationship with them is firm. No need to acquire new birds. Maintaining the present collection of birds is most important. One of them today is critically ill. I have to attend to it.

The new website will be managed by Yoga Sangeeta. Four trustees are appointed. They are answerable, responsible. Some Indian consultants will also be appointed. On Mandala Puja Day this new venture has been started.

Lord Rama searched for one who would chant his name in this world. Hanuman always chants the name of Rama. Taking the form of a parrot, Lord Rama landed on Hanuman’s arm to listen to the chanting of Rama nama. That is why in Telugu language a parrot is called Rama Chiluka (Rama Parrot).

Bhakta Ramadas (a great devotee of Lord Rama who built the Rama Temple in Bhadrachalam in Andhra Pradesh in India) got liberation for making his parrot repeatedly say Rama. Many people misinterpret the story and say that because Ramadas caged a parrot, he went to prison and suffered torture. The stay in prison was required for him to exhaust his Karma, so that he could be liberated.

Anesthesia is given before surgery to lessen or numb the pain. The doctor tells you before giving an injection. He distracts your attention and quickly makes the poke. Still you feel the pain. You wince. Some pain in life is absolutely unavoidable. Sometimes, the throat pains to eat something hard or rough. Crunching snacks sometimes hurt the teeth. Still you eat them if you are hungry. You sleep with a pillow. But get up with a pain in the neck or shoulder. You groan as you get up. I do. You stretch trying to get some relief from the discomfort.

Bath water when you turn on the faucet, comes out too hot sometimes. You jump. You adjust the temperature. In every action some discomfort is inherent. You get a new dress or a new shirt. Too tight. You feel discomfort. You get a beautiful Parrot saree. When you wash it, it fades. You feel pain. Jewels hurt when you sleep with them on.

Mother, to give birth to a beautiful bonnie baby, suffers intense pain during labor. Swamiji experiences it for you when you call out to Him in the labor room seeking relief. He is present there. Pain in life is inescapable. Some strain and effort are unavoidable. Can you eat raw rice, dal, raw vegetables, and then sit on a stove for the meal to be cooked by itself? Possible? No. Process and painful effort are required. It is a must. There are no easy ways to obtain liberation by merely paying a hundred rupees.

You think you are giving so much money for all these projects. It is money that has been given to you by God or Guru’s grace. It is not owned by you. A part of what has been given to you, you are now parting with. Can you ever repay the debt to God or Guru? No.

The only things you can give back as your own, are devotion, sacrifice, commitment, unflinching loyalty, faith, and sincerity. Money is given by God. Debt should be repaid.

Guru protects so much. Your donation of a thousand rupees He does not eat. He gains nothing. Your love and devotion is what He is yearning for. He needs it from you. Guru searches for it in your hearts.

Can I not do this fund raising in India? In one year without hurting anyone, the Shuka Vana came into existence, as if it fell from the sky. How like a miracle it took its perfect shape!

Not with money alone. It houses living beings. Children. Sick with infection, disabilities. Have to heal and cure them. Caring for birds is not like playing with bonsai trees. They may be ordered by truckloads from elsewhere. They are also living and require attention. But without water for two or three days they can survive. But parrots are very vulnerable. They die if you neglect them even for a couple of days. They require daily interaction, and communication. They have sensitive feelings.

Devotees must support. If you have no money now, it is okay. When you can afford, when God gives you, you must support. Become subscribers. Or better still, become life members. Then you will receive from Swamiji MMS or SGS posts. In about fifteen days SGS Posts may become functional. The messages from Swamiji give you moral advice.

Ten people wrote to Swamiji today, all are new Appji members of less than a week. They said today’s message was specifically intended for them. I will declare in the microphone, they said.

Only one minute it takes for you to read the MMS or to view the photo message or video. One minute only – you can see it in the time it takes to close the car door or change gear.
Take appji. Do not delay.

Yearly subscription for SGS Birds Paradise is $200. To feed birds, take life membership for $2000. Many companies give matching grants for charities. You inquire. Stay, and attend tomorrow’s programs. Do not miss.

Now the Raksha Bandhan program will commence. You may tie the Rakshas all over Swamiji. Last year in Mysore, the devotees tied a thousand of them, everywhere, on arms, feet, etc.

Gopikas tied for Krishna. Like sisters, they are all sages in their past life. All with desires are female. They desired closeness with the Lord and were granted the boon to be born as Gopikas. Even desire for liberation is a desire. Krishna alone has no desires. He is the only protector in all lives. He is the only male. He is the prime cause for our birth. He destroys sins.

This evening we will have a Bhajan session.

Sri Guru Datta

Speech in the evening

Jaya Guru Datta

A few families have requested Swamiji to sing some of their favorite bhajans today in different languages, old and new, scattered everywhere. I will try to satisfy them all. Today is the last bhajan session in Dallas in this tour. Maybe tomorrow also, who knows? No ending, no beginning, like a ball. Today is Rakhi Bandhan, Varamahalakshmi Vrata, a very powerful full moon day, Sravana Pournima.

Two Sakti Bhajans will be sung specially for today. At the end, I will ask you to identify them.

Sri Maha Ganapataye Namaha
Sri Saraswatyai Namaha
Sripada Vallabha Narasimha Saraswati
Sri Guru Dattareyaya Namaha

Om Namo Hanumate Namaha …

Om ayim hreem sreem sivarama anagha dattaya namaha..

Five hands the Lord has. Holding a rudraksha mala, lotus, blue lily, veena, and accompanied by Sakti, He has helped us to complete the Mandala Puja without any impediments. We offer prayers to Lord Ganapati this evening with gratitude.

Many secret incidents occur during the early morning Sri Chakra Puja. No one outside will know about these. Inside, in Marakata Karya Siddhi Hanuman Sannidhi, with so many facilities, this morning, there was a power outage. Mahesh could not see anything. He almost fell. He put his hand accidentally into the hot dish containing Kesari Bhath (naivedyam to be offered to God). I said it is sweet. That is okay, eat it. But it was hot.

I remembered the Dasa singers, singing in the streets, with renunciation and dispassion, declaring, of what use are all the facilities of the world? In that style of lyrics and tune, then and there, a composition took shape in Swamji’s mind.

This is the new song offering to Lord Hanuman in Telugu language.

Bhajan: Vandanam Hanumanta
(O Lord Hanuman, destroy my bondage. Despite troubles, help me to preserve my spiritual discipline. In this darkness I cannot find my way. What is this Maya? What is justice? My intellect cannot distinguish. Hanuman, please protect my dharma. Dharma is Rama. You have crossed the salty waters to see Mother Sita. By my mother’s grace I saw your form in my childhood itself. In the Rama-Ravana battle you never gave up chanting the Ramanama. I am so lucky to become your disciple. O fruit of Anjana’s womb, son of Wind God, I cannot adequately praise you. You are the only light in this world. O emerald Hanuman, I seek your refuge. Please protect me. My soul is pervaded by your form alone. In this forest of electricity, there is no light for us to see.)

Swamiji’s Bhavana/feeling has emerged as a song. Guru Hanuman, whatever he says, I do that. By giving refuge to a devotee, Hanuman once stood against Rama Himself.

Sloka: Anjana nandanam

Bhajan: Jeevake jeevanu

Sloka: Ramabhakta charita

Bhajan: He markata

Bhajan: Kalige gejje katti

Bhajan: Guru ji na

Everyone danced. You got tired. You shake about before Appaji, thinking you are all great dancers.
Today the Dallas artists have supported the Bhajan session well.

Everyone supported all the events, especially the Vanara Sena. In the kitchen, bookstall, parking areas, and the shoe stand, they served relentlessly, I call them ‘chocolates’. Charred in the sun. Continue the seva just like this.

Today’s bhajans I did for the Dallas artists. Sriji Poovalur and Narasimha. Support the enthusiasm of our youngsters. Let us encourage and support them. Yesterday we made plans about building an academy here for music instruction. Instead of private lessons, although everyone is free to give and receive private tutoring, learn here and get valuable certificates. The young and old alike may learn music and dance. The old people may bring their doctors along for treating their aches and pains.

Tomorrow is starting day. Not last day. Tomorrow we celebrate Sri Venkatamakhi and Sri Tyagaraja Aradhana. Without the scheme of Melakarta ragas no proper music system would exist in Carnatic music. Sri Venkatamakhi is Swamiji’s ancestor on Sri Jayalakshmi Mata’s side.

Go to Facebook and ‘Like’ Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji page and also Sgs birds page. Gss Puttu gam friend requests must have the person’s photo wearing a Datta vastram. Otherwise the request will be rejected.

Watch YouTube channels relevant to sgsbirds, and puttu gam. Sgs links website gives you a list of related links.
Keeps yourselves occupied. Then you won’t be distracted.

One ‘Like’ of the photo on Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji facebook page daily, equals one count of chanting the Hanuman Chalisa.

Information is available about Swamiji’s activities at facebook’s Avadhoota Datta Peetham page. Please visit and like.

Photo speaks. Educational photos. You imagine and write your comments. So nice.
10,000 counts of Hanuman Chalisa parayana are given for the first like.
Japan, China, Emirates, Kuwait, they visit and like. Why not Datta devotees?
Throw in the garbage bin, if you are not using your smartphones for this. Instead of viewing cinema and garbage, view Swamiji related websites and facebook pages.

Appji: Don’t write an entire biography as your message. Keep it very brief. Appaji will not read long messages. He has no time.
Only one or two lines. Appaji will call three times randomly, may be five times, not on the same day. If there is no answer, the name will be deleted.

Even after we are all gone, the temple and our dharma will survive. Treat this temple as your daughter. SGS Purana also says protect this temple. 162 Kumbhabhishekams were performed by Swamiji, in total. All the temples are flourishing. Different countries. Different religions also. All shining brightly.

One panel was inaugurated today for the external Indianization project. A devotee offered the cost. All of you join in the new projects, like the Priests quarters, Music school, and the canteen (for which funds collection is done). Hanuman will take care of his own home.

Jaya guru Datta. I am helpless Hanuman. I can only salute you.

Tomorrow’s programs:

Sri Chakra Puja, Homa. Venkata Makhi and Tyagaraja Ardhana, Panchamrita and Moolika teertha Abhishekam. Decoration with Sindoor (orange paste and kumkuma mixed), Torams, Bilva, Tulasi, and Betel leaves, Parijata flowers, and offering of bananas as naivedyam. Darshan on the west side in the temple tower where is placed the Hanuman who has been receiving worship here in the old temple. He is always visible even when the temple is closed. Same powerful darshan as having darshan inside. No need to feel sorry if temple is closed or you are unable to enter. See Vimana Hanuman and enjoy the darshana.
That is Mandala Puja.
Afterwards Bhojana.
Only in Vijayawada after Ganapati consecration, I stayed for such a length of time.
Here Mandala stay of over forty days completely, truly has made history.

Birds are my children. I left them and stayed here for these children. Marakata Hanuman is my personal Murti from my personal puja altar. Milk Abhishekam to Him produces wonderful colors. More green than emerald. Mixed. One crore sun’s rays are emitted during the Abhishekam. That water becomes very powerful.

Jai Veera Hanuman ki Jai.

I will miss you all at the physical level. You will always be with me.

Sri Guru Datta
