Bhajan: Anjanamma muddubidda
All Telugu people know the meaning of this song. All are Jnanis/knowledgeable scholars. No need for me to teach them. To those who don’t know, it is useless my trying to explain. They will not understand. So those who know must share the information with those who do not know. Don’t say I know or I don’t know. Remain silent. But don’t say I choose to remain silent. Even that is not good.
This song contains great Vedanta meaning. Naradadi munulaku neeve sakhudavu’ means, Hanuman is friend to Narada and all the other sages. He is their well wisher. Hanuman teaches them good things. The devotee prays, I know nothing. Please protect me. I am in difficulties. I am defeated. Whatever I attempt to do, I fail. I am ignorant. I try to do good. It turns out bad. Friends of mine turn into my enemies. Whether I talk or don’t talk, I am blamed. I am useless. I am only useful for you. Please save me. I have suffered insults. I don’t need fame. I am considered worthless. I surrender to you. Please give me courage. Protect me. Millions of Rama’s devotees are there. You are the best amongst them. I think I am a great devotee, but I am not. You are Meru transcending everything else, the highest peak. You are all-pervasive.
Today, in facebook.com/SriSwamiji Swamiji has posted a photograph of a ruby Sumeru. It is very rare. Like and comment on that photo. You will get the benefit of witnessing Swamiji’s Sri Chakra Puja. Changes occur in its colors when abhishekam is performed with water and other substances. So many precious gems find their way to Swamiji. All gems merge in the Datta Mani/gem. All gems come to Swamiji as if magically attracted. The ultimate bliss is in Maha Vishnu. Taste fades. Flowers fade. All colors in nature and mind fade. Pick up only a few flowers for puja. Do not strip plants of all their flowers and leave them bare. Do not give pain to trees and plants. Do not deprive a calf of its milk. Take only the milk that is produced in excess. Harvest after the birds have eaten. Do not persecute birds for eating grains and fruits. There is drought in many places. Give water and seeds to birds so they can survive. After living as birds we became humans. Observe birds. How they fly, how they eat. How seriously they take their job of laying eggs and hatching them. They struggle so hard to take care of their young ones. They sometimes get captured. Birds develop our relationship with beings who live on higher planes. Watch their colors as the birds fly away.
Dharma and Marma. Like the head. They always rise above. Like the Bindu in a Sri Chakra, the highest point. The head. Pranadaana deeksha is preserving life, protecting life. Breath of air preserves life. We must keep our faith on inhalation and exhalation; we should control it to preserve health and life. Protect the child when it is young. The five Pranas/life energies gather gradually into the newborn child by the grace of Hanuman. Otherwise, without His grace, a child is stillborn or dead. All babies must become devotees of Hanuman, the life giver and life preserver. Babies sometimes cry during Bhajans. I feel no irritation. They deserve to be given attention.
Children should be spared from witnessing quarrels and bad vibrations occurring in their presence due to friction between their parents and amongst others. No depression or dejection should be witnessed by them. No serious or troubling discussions should be carried out in the presence of children. Before having children prepare yourselves to be restrained and controlled. Maintain good physical and mental health.
Pampering a second child by neglecting the first child will upset the first child. Favoring sons over daughters is unfair. Do not make such mistakes. Do not neglect your children. Treat them as your friends. After they leave for college also, converse with them. Develop and earn their confidence. Inquire about their friends. Keep track of their activities. Otherwise they get into undesirable love affairs. Swamiji cannot help you then. Do not indulge too much. Be moderate. Balance should be maintained in handling your relationship with the children.
In every sorrow and in every joy, place your trust in Hanuman. Life’s evil influences/Peedalu will be driven away by the chanting of Hanuman’s name. Two vastrams/fabrics are immune from contamination. Woolen fabrics do not absorb negativity. Shaking them vigorously is enough. Wood or bark fabrics also. They remain pure.
Even though one wears shoes, after returning home, one must wash feet. Wash under tap/faucet water. The cold water on the feet reduces blood pressure. Washing feet is not only for removing physical dirt that is visible. It has many other great benefits. Develop that habit. A bucket of water may be used. If there is carpeted floor, wipe the feet with a wet cloth.
During journeys one is sometimes forced to eat untimely meals. It affects health adversely. Make proper plans to protect your health. Drink water moderately, using discretion during travel, based on the availability of toilet facilities. Use control. Only sip water if drinking a lot of water will cause you inconvenience due to lack of toilet access. Find out ahead of time about breaks in the journey, especially while traveling by vehicles with no toilet on board. These are peedas/inconveniences one faces during travel.
Talking needlessly is also bad. Overdoing and keeping totally mum is also bad.
O Hanuman, chanting your name is enough. Say Hanuman. All your doshas/flaws will be gone. Still, wash your feet, even if you chant Hanuman’s name.
Unknown people will talk to you, look at you, see you, and eat with you causing unfavorable reactions. Wrong foods you are sometimes forced to eat, items which are unhealthy. Sometimes some unhealthy foods tempt you. All these are sins, if you yield to such temptations. Puranas say there are 24 names of God which represent the different parts in each body, referring to each limb. Remember. Chant the names. Om Kesavaya namaha and so on.
Daily listen to the Kavachams (Kavacha Manjari CD). While taking a bath daily, I listen. At least play one kavacham daily. Without listening to a kavacham/shield of protection I do not take a bath. Six Kavachams have been recorded so far in that CD. I will do one more to make it seven, one per day for the whole week. Hanuman kavacham. While bathing, regularly listen. Be stubborn about your own discipline. Make it a point to listen to one Kavacham at least per day. Ganapati, Narayana, Surya, Lalita, Siva, and Datta Kavachams are there now on the CD.
Have darshan of Hanuman if inner anxieties and discontent trouble you. Cannot explain many times what actually is troubling the mind. Unexplained. Indescribable. Stay busy always. Keep the mind always busy doing useful and productive work. Create healthy occupations for yourselves. Keep body and mind healthy. Otherwise, laziness and overweight will overtake you. Overeating will result, causing obesity. 15 years ago you were well, but not now. Exercise remove excess fat. Makes you feel more active. Now there is new energy in Hanuman’s sannidhi. Take the initiative. Find alternate projects if your choice of work is not available. Bend. Work.
Loni tamasu – inner darkness of ignorance is destroyed by praying to Hanuman. Prostrations offered to the feet of lord Hanuman will result in the experience of sat chit ananda. What are bath, japa, prayer, meditation, and keertan?
Sloka: Hanumanniti me
Praise Hanuman always with every inhalation and exhalation you do always. Be aware of the breathing. That is japa. Ajapa-japa. Constant chanting, chanting his name like the flowing water used for bathing/showering. Om namo hanumate namaha. Penance and singing hymns by chanting of Hanuma’s name are necessary.
Bhajan: Adugaduguna nee rakshane Hanuma
It will take two days to explain the meaning of this simple Telugu language mantra given by Swamiji in the form of this wonderful bhajan. Now the last Bhajan.
Bhajan: Datta tuhi vidhi Kayena vacha …
