Jai Veera Hanuman ki Jai

Already it is the second day of Durmukhi year. Time is not in our control. We have to move within the limits of Time. Only God transcends Time. He is above and beyond Time. His form itself is Time. He is Digambara, all-pervasive. Jaya Guru Datta. He is the Creator of Time. He created Time as per His will. Not for anyone else’s sake.

Time has really no measure, where one can say that it began at such and such a time and so many days have elapsed since then. It is eternal. It goes beyond all eons. That is Atma Brahma. That is the Supreme Soul. People struggle very hard to understand the concept of Soul and its principle. They read many books. They approach many Gurus. When some problems occur, the books get thrown away. When certain desires are not fulfilled by Guru, he gets renounced. When mind becomes troubled, even mother who gave birth, is shunned. Your own father who is responsible for your birth and existence is despised and distanced. When mental agonies worsen, suicide is contemplated and sometimes committed. This type of behavior that goes against nature is peculiar to man.

Creation in its pristine purity is known only to Paramatma. Unable to understand the essence of God, Guru, and Datta, people view Him with a perverted view.

The taste of cigarettes is so enticing to a smoker that it takes him to death’s very doorstep. Indirectly he kills himself. Those who drink alcohol are also like that. They indulge in a slow suicide. No one makes any attempt to know his own true form or nature. They come close to it and then get diverted. They lose their way. People do many types of Yoga, but do not pursue any one of them with steadfastness. They do Yoga as something fashionable to show off and boast about. That is all. There is no perseverance. The mind wavers and entertains doubts. When there is suspicion between a husband and wife, the household does not remain healthy and strong. Suspicion does not sustain or increase friendship. Relationships break apart. Every individual is only going towards self-destruction. No one is following the path of protection and creativity. People are eager to ignite a bomb and destroy everything. They do not speak about throwing a bomb and then re-creating something new. They only wish to take life, not to instill life. They do not speak the truth, because lies are always more appealing. People think that deception is very nice to indulge in. When a child tells a lie, people are amused and they laugh. The child gets encouraged and tells a second lie. People spoil children this way. People are tending to proceed in this wrong direction. When a child calls mother, “Mommy”, they feel happy. They appreciate it. They do not teach the child to call mother “Amma”. Children are encouraged to use the foreign words, mommy and daddy. They are led in the wrong direction. Once children step out of the house, naturally they will learn words like daddy and mommy. But inside the home those words should not be used. Children must be taught that use of those words at home is unacceptable. Amma and Nanna are the proper terms to use at home (for Telugu families). Our own mother tongue must be used at home. In the outside world for livelihood, other languages have to be spoken, for holding a job.

People search only for ways to earn a living, not for Truth. People study for exams to pass medical courses only to earn money. In the olden days, they had the wish to serve the village folk and they carried out their wish after becoming doctors. Now that practice is not followed. Anyone who hears of such a concept of serving in the villages, will simply laugh these days, youngsters, especially. They think it is funny. People, especially Hindus, lack the service mentality. Christians have it. Kerala people have it. Only now our people are getting introduced to it. Even to clean up after one’s own mother’s excrement and urine, people feel disgust and repulsion. To raise their own infants, people hire help because they do not wish to change diapers. They do not like the smell. They are afraid of infection. To their own infant, to sustain it, they feed formula milk and refuse to breastfeed. We are creating a society like this. This must be stopped. Villagers who used to follow the old valuable traditions are now learning the bad ways from the city folk. We are spoiling them.

Men have stopped wearing the dot on the forehead. They are ashamed to call themselves Hindus. Their face looks as if it has been licked by a dog. They do not realize that the dot they were on the forehead will protect them. Lambika Chakra is there on our forehead. It should be kept covered always with a mark. Others’ glance should not fall on that spot. If it is exposed it poses danger to the individual. It will attract the evil eye of others. Evil eye will give us bad results. The mark on the forehead will divert attention from the eyes to the dot, thus providing valuable protection. Without the dot on the forehead, one remains vulnerable to deception through hypnotism. Those who wear a dot cannot be deceived or hypnotized. It obstructs power exercised against us by others. If you wish, you put this to test.

Even widows may wear a dot, a sticker, sacred ash, or any other auspicious substance on the forehead. No one says one should have a bare forehead. Wear matching stickers if you wish. It is acceptable. Even men may wear a sticker dot. Even that you do not wish to wear. It is such a fine decoration for the face. God gave us natural decorations. We wear new artificial decorations and spoil our looks.

Besides, we must follow certain minor daily traditions to preserve our Dharma. We must wake up early and look at both our palms. The three goddesses reside in our palms. Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Durga. The CD prepared by Swamiji (Velugu Bata) gives mantras to chant while waking up, during bath, while eating, while going to bed, and so on. How many of you follow that CD and chant the appropriate mantras daily? Only a handful of devotees out of thousands.

People are always filled with anxieties, pains, and desires. You want only pleasures in life. You come with just one desire, you say to Swamiji. Once that is fulfilled, you promise that you will never ask for anything else.

Then, you come with another desire. You make promises and keep breaking them. First you request that your son gets a job, then you ask about his marriage, then a son for your son, a grandson to preserve the family name. Why not ask for a daughter for your child? Are you not female? Is your mother not a female? Is your daughter not a female? Is your daughter-in-law not a female? I scold people who ask only for a male child. A girl child is Maha Lakshmi, Adi Parashakti. One should be very fortunate to have a daughter. It is useless to keep having sons, where one is a donkey, and another is a dog, and so on.

A girl is Mother Goddess. She protects her mother. One in a billion may be bad. That is all. A daughter brings good luck to the family. A daughter takes care of her parents. She takes care of the family. It is only a daughter who comes to your rescue 90 per cent of the time. A daughter will convince her husband, and will render you help. It is wrong to despise female children.

Give birth to sons, but also have daughters. Hindus are less in number now. The Hindus in our state are getting destroyed. Other religions are converting our people. They are offering bribes to bear more children, whereas we are sterilizing ourselves and aborting our babies. We have no mercy. We are most selfish. We have no interest in protecting our Dharma. Householders must pray for children. It is their duty to do so. If God does not grant children, then treat God as your child. Make that determination and with that attitude help orphans, give them resources, and give your service. Support orphanages. Supply them needed items.

Your own Guru has so many projects, so many public service activities. Small or big, there are a huge number of avenues through which Swamiji is helping you to offer services to the needy. You cannot do these on your own. Swamiji paves your way allowing you to serve in different worthwhile avenues. Those students who have studied in Swamiji’s schools are now big officers. They go to America. They are holding high offices. They come back and proudly tell Swamiji that they are graduates from SGS Schools. We even give free education, and free uniforms. We teach children who are mute and deaf, those who are impaired in communication skills. Help in different ways each year. Each year you may help in a different institution. Whatever charitable activity is being done, those who set up such institutions are all my devotees.

Wherever you give help, it will all reach Swamiji. Give help. Why waste food? Do you know how hard these people here have struggled to procure enough rice to serve everyone? You are happily enjoying sumptuous meals here. Every grain of rice is precious. Today, happily you attend the program. You must do your share. Even the committee members do not enquire whether and where help is needed. Even to give five thousand rupees they hesitate. Somehow we are managing to run the programs. Involvement and accountability are lacking. Initiative is lacking. Say, only three thousand rupees I can afford. Let me give this towards a project. No. the committee members do not give. Do I have any need for such committee members? No. They are losing their chance to serve. It is the outside devotees who support the programs. Do you offer any help to the volunteer leader Narayana Rao? Whether or not they help, programs will go on smoothly. Those who do not offer help are the losers for not participating in worthy events. They are unfortunate. They are losing their Yoga.

Why do you follow Swamiji? Why do you seek His refuge? How many thousands of people are being fed! How many hundreds are being accommodated? How much is spent on utilities that thousands are enjoying lights and water facilities! Have you no sense of gratitude, after enjoying all these amenities?

Host committee helps some. They must repeatedly offer services. Every time do you need the volunteers to chase after you to collect contributions to meet the expenses? For everything you give, you must obtain a receipt. Much ahead of time, I had requested all of you to come forward with your donations to hold major events. Very few have come forward on their own. Do not ever give cash to be given to Swamiji. Find out what the requirements are, and offer the services and monetary help. Volunteers are coming to your home soliciting funds. It is Swamiji coming to your home in their forms and begging for alms. If you turn them away, remember that one day, you will be made to beg for alms. It is Swamiji’s spirit that is coming to you in the form of the volunteer soliciting funds. Do not make Swamiji go down to that level. Do not tax him like that. Give, before being asked. You come here and make your payments. Do not make the volunteers make the rounds coming to every doorstep knocking.

Now the center has been relocated. Reduce their having to run around so much. Do not trust anyone. Take a receipt always. Insist upon it. Offer rice for annadana. Offer chillies, tamarind, or other food supplies. If Swamiji should come and we should have a successful program, you all must come forward and enthusiastically help. It is not a job for just one or two persons. Everyone must participate. Ask where help is needed. Make a phone call and ask. Show eagerness to serve, to give, to participate. Our Swamiji is coming to town. We must make wonderful arrangements. That should be your spirit.

No one does this. Those who have not even benefited from Swamiji are offering help. What about you, who have received help? Do you need reminders? Do they have to repeatedly come after you? Do they need to beg? Just for a thousand rupees, do they need to work so hard? Don’t you have the heart to come forward on your own? Why don’t you just pay at one time for several years, if you can afford it? It is the same for Guru Nilayam maintenance. Please let there not be a repeat of such behavior.

Today, I wanted to complete the program in one hour. I do not want yesterday’s incident to be repeated. Yesterday, there was a total lack of discipline. People fell over each other.

I want to first see those who have given towards Annadana (food distribution). I wish to see those who have sponsored the Pujas. You should take such good care of your Guru. If I had a Guru like this, I would carry him with reverence, upon my head.

I am stubborn. I will not take help from just a few devotees. I want a very wide circle of participants. Every one of you must participate.

These are the zodiac parrots. Swamiji has done a great amount of research on the parrots. These birds are associated with the different zodiac signs. This photo was specially taken with great effort, making all the birds sit on my arms. See how they heed my words. Even a bear listened to me in my childhood. Only you people do not listen to my words. You do not follow. Even a buffalo paid attention when I spoke. But you do not pay heed at all. O sir, please move, please step forward, I request you, like this I plead respectfully and affectionately, and still you pay no attention. You do not show respect.

Only to those who have sponsored the Pradhana Homa, I will hand these out personally from my own hands. Get these posters framed and display them in your living room. These parrots all appear as if in the picture they are flying freely. They speak, and they follow Swamiji eagerly. Look at all these different colors. They have adjusted to the new surroundings and are thriving in Shuka Vana. You will not get these photos again even if you struggle to obtain them, not available on google. This is historical. You go to google for everything. Now Swamiji has scolded. So you will search in google for for the text. The moment you go to google, the first name you see is Swamiji. I don’t know why.

Nine planets are represented by these nine birds. Their nature and attributes are all different and they all correspond perfectly with the nine planets, including the colors. It is very remarkable that such parrots have been found. It is very difficult to gather them all. These can be sold for a very high price. But I do not wish to sell these posters. I will give these as prasadam. I will not sell them. In America, if you look for some photos like these, you will pay up to two hundred dollars for each. You can take them to the US and sell them if you like. There are two photos here. Both are very special. Roll them up and put a rubber band. You take a chance. I don’t know who gets which one. Sarees are the same. All Swamiji’s birds, those raised by him are painted on these sarees. Only one hundred hand painted sarees are available. They will soon get exhausted.

Parrots chant Rama, Rama. Modi came and just when Swamiji was talking to him, the parrot sang, “Rama taraka mantra bhavya muktidayaka tantra”… He was surprised and exclaimed, “O my God, is it really a bird that is singing such a long line?” Another sang Om Namo Narayana Krishna. Another sang, Om namo Narayana Datta. I don’t know who taught them those competitive lines. That is why I come running back to India, no matter in whichever country I may be, not to Mysuru only, if I come to Mysuru, I will come here also, I come because the birds call me, they say, come quickly. I go to their cages and speak with them. They never leave me. They enquire, have you eaten? In different languages they ask if I am well. Do I want to eat, they ask. Okay, go, it says, shouts in anger sometimes. Unable to bear its shouting, I go away. At 11 PM when I return from the Nada Mantapa, they say Good night. When I place the parrot on my shoulder and feed it, it takes food out of its mouth and tries to feed me. I say gently, no, you eat it yourself.

Now, first I give prasadam to the Pradhana Sri Chakra Puja sponsors.

Sri Guru Datta

Speech of April 9 in the morning as posted by Avadhoota Dattapeetham on Facebook:

When faced with acute problems, we shy away from the problem. Even think of ending lives.

Instead of learning the phenomenon of the Aatma , we are looking at the reverse. Starting too many things without focus is a problem.

Suspicion and insecurity actually decrease the confidence in life. Destruction is easy. Construction is very difficult.

When a child lies, we encourage by laughing and smile. Instead of dissuading the child, we turn oblivious.
When the child calls mummy or daddy, we get thrilled. Instead of using the mother tongue, we encourage foreign tongues.

If some one studies, it is only to make money. We are losing the attitude of helping others. Hindus are losing the path of service.

After studying medicine, going to a rural area for service is considered to be a fallacy or incompetence.

We do not attend to the elders and infants. We prefer to employ people. Rich and urban people employ poor and rural people for domestic duties. We shy away from cleaning the bodies of the disabled even at home.

Gents do not have the Tilakam or Bhasma when they come out. The Tilakam on the forehead will avert bad eye.

As a last resort, you may use a sticker. But make it a habit not to keep your forehead blank.

Sri Swamiji has given you a CD to follow daily prayers. We will not look at our Palms after waking up.

People swear that they will not have a second desire if this is fulfilled. Every family yearns for male progeny. Why is that? Females are the saviour of the family. Many daughters take care of parents. Hindus should have healthy progeny. Do not shy away from having more children.

Abortions are wrong. Couples (Gruhasthas) have an enter al duty to sustain the families, Dharma.

If you are not destined to have progeny, do not worry. Go to orphanages and adopt their upkeep and children. Many organisations help raise and sponsor children’s education. Do not worry about their upbringings.

Do not waste resources. Be it food or clothes or any other thing. Support any beneficial activity for the community. It is an offering to the Guru.

Get involved in the activities. Don’t wait for someone to approach you. Even committee members are not forthcoming to donate and partake. If the so called members desists from donations, what is the use of being a member?

Be grateful to the institution which is illuminating the lives of the people. Host committee is there to support the annual activities. Do not wait for a volunteer to approach you.

Do not give cash donations to persons known or Unknown. Obtain Receipt for all your donations. Come to Ashrama and donate. Visit the Trust office. It will acclimatise your life.

Even if you are donating, make a receipt. Accountability is key in public service.

Improve your lifestyle from this year. Do not leave the opportunity to or few people. Be active in your service spheres. New comers are getting involved, whereas old devotees are becoming lethargic. It is not gratitude to Guru.

Sri Swamiji will be happy if He see improvement in your life.

Jaya Guru Datta
