Vasudeva Sutam Devam, Kamsa Chanoora Mardhanam
Devaki Paramanandam Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum !
Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. Krishna means removing our sins and removing our problems. The name Krishna has two different meanings. One indicates His color and the other indicates sin. One more meaning is darkness. He removes all these three categories. He takes us from darkness to light.
He is in the color of aakasa. Aakasa here is not sky. It is daharaakasa. ( the ether in the heart). That is Atma Tatva. It means, Whom am I ? What is the purpose of my birth ? This kind of Atma Gnana is indicated in the name Krishna. The name Krishna also indicates Sakha – Good friend. Krishna likes butter. What does it mean ? Think about butter. How is it prepared ? What is the process ? Milk becomes curd and when churned becomes butter.
Think about Atma Gnana and talk about Atma Gnana with Guru. There are so many doubts about Atma Gnana. Many questions and many answers. There is a war going inside with questions and answers. That is the conversation between Krishna and Arjuna. They both spoke about Atma Gnana. This is real war. The war between Pandavas and Kouravas is only physical war. Arjuna is ignorant. Krishna is light. He is not physical body. Butter is sin. He always eats the sins of devotees. Baby Krishna always eats butter. He even had stolen butter from others. This means that He had stolen our ignorance. This was when He was a small child.
The Krishna-Arjuna Samvada, the conversation is of 18 chapters. It is completely spiritual. It talks about the inner world, the outer world and the worldly affairs, all in 18 chapters. The original Bhagavad Gita had 28 chapters. But Shankara Bhagavadpada gave us 18 chapters only. There were 200 more slokas after these 700 slokas. There were total 900 slokas. The last 200 slokas were removed by Shanka Bhagavadpada since they were not necessary. Those 200 slokas are very tough subject. In Kaliyuga 700 slokas are enough, he thought.
Today, I’m very happy that you all are chanting this Krishna-Arjuna conversation in 700 slokas. It is said that even a listener will get Atma Gnana and salvation. Who ever chants it by-heart will become Brahma Himself. You are all very fortunate at this young age. Though you do not know the meaning of it, you all by-hearted it as per Tataji’s order. I’m very happy that we came here to this place. Kurukshetra is a very big place because they had 18 Akshauhini army. You can calculate the number of people including Kouravas and Pandavas. It was countless. All those who die in Kurukshetra attain Brahma loka. Such a land we came and I’m very happy.
If you read Bhagavatam, Dasama Skanda, the 10th chapter, you can understand BhagavadGita. Those who by-hearted 18 chapters of Bhagavad Gita must also listen to the 10th chapter of Bhagavatam. Then you will understand the power of Bhagavad Gita. Slowly you all try to understand the meaning. There is a short mearning and an elaborated one. You can choose. Also, use BhagavadGita in your daily routine and implement. While eating, sleeping, quarrel you try to correlate Bhagavad Gita. Now chant Prardhana Slokas.
Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum ! Jaya Guru Datta !
Discourse during Swagatha Sabha
I will speak only two words. Gita is mother. Bhagavad Gita indicates victory. Our stomach is like Kurukshetra. Our Atma is Lord Krishna. Our intellect is Arjuna. The five Gnana indriyas (senses) are Pandavas and five Karma Indriyas are Kouravas. Both these Gnana indriyas and Karma indriyas are on fight. Krishna is witness for this fight. However, Krishna is not part of the war. He didn’t fight. He has given advice only. The sense organs are the chariot. Bhagavad Gita is completely Atma Gnana. Sadhakas get salvation. Who ever is chanting gets salvation and who ever is listening also gets salvation equally.
Now we all came to Kurukshetra. It is like stomach. Stomach is a large area in the body. Atma is small. Atma is not heart. It is invisible. Buddhi or intellect always keeps questioning. When Swamiji advices people, they keep questioning. They are always doubtful and needs confirmation again and again. Krishna plays big maya. He created maya and is only witnessing it. Everyone wants Krishna. Both Kouravas and Pandavas wants Krishna. They love Him very much equally. No higher or lower level in it. Your Swamiji is also like that. I love all of you. I dont differentiate between a rich man, bad man or a good man. My habit is to love every one. If you are a bad man, it is your karma. If you are a good man, it is your karma. If you are a good man, ok thanks. If you are a bad man, also the same thanks. Some people like Swamiji. Some others love Him so much. Some people are very close to Swamiji and some others love Him from distance. Swamiji is like Krishna. He equally treats all His devotees. The qualities of Kouravas are different from that of Pandavas. That is the reason, He encouraged the fight on Tamo Guna. Pandavas have Satva Guna and Kouravas had Tamo Guna and Rajo Guna. Hence He instructed to fight and finally Satva Guna won.
So, today we came here to Kurukshetra. Swamiji was brought in the chariot. For Swamiji, whether it is chariot or the old Ambassador car or a donkey or a flight or even walk, everything is same for me. I call Kurukshetra as stomach place because people when they come here are always eating and eating. Now let us watch some dance program.
Jaya Guru Datta !
