This is a very important day and yet, not many are in attendance here. Perhaps not many have been informed. Perhaps not much publicity was given. Today is a holiday. If informed, people perhaps would have attended this Children’s Day function and the Diabetes Camp. I hope in the future all the persons in charge will give sufficient publicity to the public to attend such important events as this. The devotees will come regardless. But outsiders need to be informed. Kriya Yoga and Medical Camp are important. Simply putting up fliers locally or announcing on Facebook is not sufficient. If a good music program is arranged, then people will come in droves. If some prasadam food is arranged, people will come. I refused to come today because proper arrangements were not made for advertising this event. One must bribe the audience to come these days. All those in authority are responsible for this insufficient publicity.
The dignitary who has come is the Municipality commissioner. If the house is clean, the mind will be clean. He has downloaded our app. Jagadish sees pictures posted by Swamiji. If throwing the garbage out is important for us, then garbage pick up is equally important. You see the ashram and say it is clean. See the Mysuru city to know how dirty it is. Perhaps those who assessed that Mysuru is the cleanest city have not seen the dirty parts of this city. The main route is clean. But not in other places. You must sweep, mop and clean. It will give you exercise and good health, plus cleanliness is achieved. Many people do not bend down. They have a big belly. They eat too much. When someone insults them, they go out and eat 4 masala dosas or even 10. Some used to drink liquor to get over unhappy situations. Now people cannot see their own feet when they are standing. You have to ask the neighbor how your feet look. They then lie about their problem. Many people complain of joint pains, knee pain and back pain. You must bend down and do work. It should be a daily practice. The slimmer you are, the healthier you are. Honey and Sugar are both sweet. Don’t say go on honey moon. Say remain healthy. Moon and honey are pleasant. You must maintain a fit condition. You must not overeat.
Today is Children’s Day and Full Moon, and a special moon is visible today. I am performing a concert at Saptarshi sarovara addressing the moon. The sounds will certainly reach the moon. I have researched. If Kriya Yoga is performed regularly you will not require doctors. These days in every home there is a doctor. Some doctors are sincere. Others exaggerate your condition and will take advantage of patients. Diabetes is very troublesome whether it is chronic or temporary. Many say that the condition is hereditary. It is not true. It is caused by one’s own negligence. One naturally gets it if one is not careful. Unnecessarily do not blame the parents that they have bequeathed the disease to you. Others may laugh but it is not good to speak like that. Doctors are also going to pay for their mistakes.
No one is going to give us liberal donations just like that. Now Svaccha Bharat scheme is in place thanks to our Prime Minister. Now the municipal commissioner must go around the city and help maintain hygiene. Then sir, you will help our Diabetes camp’s success. Our doctor is advised by me to help people to change their lifestyle.
Thinking too much and overeating cause ill health. If you walk around, the legs will pain. But still you must exercise and not simply sit all day. Even if I do a lot of exercise, I have a belly since childhood. That is why my mother called me Ganapathi. I do all kinds of work, including in the Bonsai garden. I swim for a whole hour daily. No one stops me. One day I swam for over two hours and lost consciousness. Nothing happened. I reduced my sugar level by doing that. There are methods to maintain the sugar level. But in old age, the canned food and wrong thinking will cause diabetes. Do Pranayama daily. Bend down, exercise. Do not eat till you are stuffed. Don’t get tempted to take extra servings of tasty food. While you are still not completely full, stop eating. Two idlis are tasty. When you feel like eating a third one, resist the temptation.
Sri Guru Datta
