Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – morning – May 25, 2017 – Mysore
Notes from: Archana Penukonda
Today is a very happy day. Every day I am happy. If there is a ten-day festival, you relish a new dish each day. We eat today’s dish and look forward to another dish to relish tomorrow. Human beings are waiting for the next day’s treat. But a wise man will not overeat. He will pace himself for the next day. He wants to taste every day’s dish. Some others eat too much the first day until their stomach hurts. They end up with a bad stomach and cannot eat the next day. The wise man is happy all ten days.
In the same vein, decorations on Gods give us happiness every day. But there is a difference between decorations on Gods and the stomach’s feast I was talking about. When we see the beautiful, colorful decorations on God with various flowers, we behold that Lord of Vaikuntha with happiness. We cannot use the principle of eating food in the same breath as talking about Darshan of the Lord. We should be very happy seeing the Lord. Although you should not eat until you are exhausted from eating , you should adore and appreciate the decorations on God and Guru until you are exhausted. We should have tears in our eyes as we see the decorations on God. So, do not use the principle of eating here.
See how much difference there is between the two. There is much difference, similarly, between the birthday of our family members and the birthday of Sadguru. The birthday of a family member does not give as much happiness as Sadguru’s birthday. Today’s Chaitanya Archana gives us much happiness. We are seeing such great souls each day (during the birthday celebrations). We are very happy seeing them. They are honored with “Shastra Nidhi”, “Veda Nidhi”, “Kala Nidhi”, “Vishwa Bandhu”, “Pravachana Bandhu” and so on. It is very rare to see such great souls assemble in one place.
See how beautiful Chaitanya Archana is. It was beautiful in one way yesterday. It will be beautiful in a different way tomorrow. We are seeing so many great souls on the stage. You know what Chaitanya Archana is. We recognize the grace of Maha Vishnu in (their) different forms. Veda Nidhi, Kala Nidhi, Vishwa Bandhu – there are so many different kinds of Avatara/incarnations. It is like seeing the Lord in Dashavatara form (all ten major incarnations of Maha Vishnu represented in one form). If you see Dashavatara in a temple, it is different from seeing only Maha Vishnu’s form, although the decorations may not be different. We are seeing that cosmic form on stage today. I am very happy about the divine consciousness that reflects through them making them Bandhu Chaitanya Moorti, Shastra Chaitanya Moorti, Pravachana Chaitanya Moorti, Kala Nidhi Chaitanya Moorti, Nada Nidhi Chaitanya Moorti and so on.
Our breath is our Nada. Swamiji’s music is like our breath. My breath is Nada. I am very happy about the event today. Today is the day five of the celebrations. Time is running. Time does not wait because we are busy. We wonder, “Is it already over?”, “How did time fly so fast?”
If an unbaked pot is filled with water, the pot will dissolve and the water will dissipate. That is how time is. It dissipates like the water in that unbaked pot. May good things happen to you. I hope these embodiments of divine consciousness (Chaitanya Moortis) develop a closer relationship with Datta Peetham. They should continue serving the society. Be blessed. Service should be done in different ways. These are all the different paths. This is not an award. It is Prasadam/blessing from Lord Maha Vishnu. The Lord appears in the form you imagine. If you think of the Lord without a form, he is there without a form. He is gross as well as subtle. It is up to him. He is the cause of this creation and we merge back into Him.
We should fulfill our duties and walk in the path of God.
