Bhagavatam, day 336

Srimad Bhagavatam – day 336

Sixth Canto Chapter Seven

In this chapter, the Narayana Kavaca is explained.

Emperor Parikshit enquired from Maharishi Śuka, “O revered Guru! You have said that Indra was protected by this ever-powerful Kavaca, which is a personification of the Supreme Lord himself. Moreover, due to the power of this Kavaca, the demons together with their vehicles were completely destroyed and Indra could now happily enjoy the opulence of all the three worlds. Please teach me this Kavaca. Also I seek to know the defeat of the demons who were holding powerful weapons by Indra who was rendered powerful by the Nārāyaṇa Kavaca”.

Maharishi Śuka replied, “O Emperor, Devatas appointed Vishwaroopa, the son of Tvaśṭa, as their priest. Thereafter based on Indra’s prayer, he taught Indra the sacred Nārāyaṇa Kavaca. I shall now chant the Kavaca. Please listen with attention.”

In this episode, we are lucky to hear the sacred Nārayaṇa Kavaca in Sri Swamiji’s voice.
