Speech of HH Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji on Ksheerabdi Dwaadashi during Ati Rudra – November 18, 2010 – Mysore

With the Blessings of Pujya Swamiji we are watching Rudra Yagam rituals today. We have entered into 7th day of Rudra Yaga. Swami very much likes today’s day i.e. Ksheerabdi Dwaadashi. Generally we say Ekadasi is very auspicious day. Our scriptures say Ksheerabdi Dwaadashi day is much more auspicious than Ekadasi day. Today specially we perform Tulasi Dhaatri Vrata (Pooja rituals performed to Tulasi plant). Tulasi and Dhaatri gives us good health. Swamiji for our betterment sake has taken this sankalpa (commitment) of performing Rudra Homa in the month of Karthika.
Today is Ksheerabdi Dwaadashi, a very auspicious day. Ksheerabdi Dwaadashi day is the 12th day of the month.
On this day angels and demons have done churning of the ocean of milk. On this day all the auspicious things came from the milky ocean. Many shaktis took birth from the amruta kadali (nectar vessel). In the same way, in our body also let all the shaktis come in. Since its 12th day, it is a favourite day for Lord Sun. Dwadashi means 12. “Dwaadashatmaka Adityaya Rudraya Idam na mama”. One way of praying Lord Siva in the form of Aditya. So in the rays of Sun let us have the grace of Siva. And in that Siva form meditate on our Sadguru.
One who prays Siva in the form Aditya gets good health, wealth, knowledge, everything, whatever you need. Whatever we pray Siva is there to protect, Siva is there to provide, Siva is there to bless in the form of Sadguru. So pray Siva in the form of Surya, i.e Sun God. It is a sampradaya (custom). Let Swami bless us with our prayers. Let all your sankalpa’s be true.
From the nectar vessel how Kalpavruksham, Kamadhenu came out on this day, same way our body is also ksheera kadal (nectar vessel) all the best powers should be produced from it. All of you pray for that. Today pray for our better health also. Let the ignorance in our minds be removed. All of you pray for complete krupa blessings of Swami.
The celestial beings and the evil beings started churning the milky ocean on Ksheerabdi Dwaadashi day. That is what always happens in our body and mind. There is always churning in our mind. There is always churning in our body. There is always churning in our thoughts. Always churning. We need to pray for the Amruta i.e nectar. Today is the day we can produce nectar in our mind, with the help of, with blessings of Sadguru. So pray for His blessings in the form of Siva.
Now we are going to perform Abhishekam to Lord Siva. After that witness Sri Chakrarchana. Listen to the mantras of the Rudra Adhyanam. Concentrate and listen to the mantras. Jaya Guru Datta.
