Speech of HH Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji – August 15, 2011 – Indian Independence day

What an insightful, ingenious, and inspiring analysis of the map of India, Sri Bala Swamiji! Thank you ! Thank You! THANK YOU!

“Just look at the map of India! Observe it! Learn from it! Follow the lessons that it teaches! Just as you look at a Guru from the feet slowly up to the top of the head, also look at Mother India the same way. When you look at a Guru it is not right to only look at the necklace or other ornaments to comment about it. There is a proper sequence that one must follow. Mother India’s feet are always kept clean and pure, being constantly washed by the Indian Ocean. The southern states are sacred and holy. Keep your feet always clean. Wash them to stay healthy. Look at the right and left hands of Mother India on the West and the East. They are also always clean and pure, kept washed by the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Keep your hands always clean. Go only to good places with your feet, do only good deeds with your hands. Use them well. Keep them always clean and pure. Datta is there on the East at Manginapudi known as Datta Rameswaram. Datta is there on the West as Leela Viswambaravadhoota in Gujarat to remind us of our duties and to protect us. Ours is a holy country. As you move up, in the North is the region of Kashmir with the Himalayas, always cool and tranquil. Always keep your head cool and peaceful. No tensions. No stress. Learn from the Himalayas. Be strong and courageous. India is invincible! Keep your mind and intellect always sharp and clean. In the heart region is Omkareswara. Remember OM always. Never let go of it. It is your life! Also Maha Kaleswara is there in the heart region, as Time. This is the land of great sages, great rishis, the Guru tradition! It took birth here. It is sustained here. This is the holiest country in the world! If just the map of India can teach you this much, can you imagine the vastness and the limitlessness of the teachings of the Gurus, of the teachings of the culture and heritage of India!” Jai Hind! Happy Independence Day to Everyone! May our Sadguru bless us all with freedom, not only political, and social, but the highest of all, spiritual freedom, Liberation! My fervent prayers are offered on this glorious day at the lotus feet of the Guru Parampara, the lineage of the the Gurus. Sri Guru Datta
