Today we have heard 13 chapters from Sundarakanda and had a little explanation on Sundarakanda.
Hanuman said: There is no parallel for Sri Rama. There is no one like Sri Rama. Even in celestial beings. Rama is Rama. That is it. Rama is Paramatma.
That is why we say ‘Ramachandra Paramatma ne Namo Namaha’.
Rama is Ananda-bliss, Rama is bestower of happiness. He is everything. He is everywhere.
Rama Rama Rama. If you keep chanting Rama nama, you can witness, you can feel, you can experience Rama everywhere. That is the experience of the demon Maricha.
Maricha was always chanting Rama Rama Rama out of fear. He was very worried and was always thinking, “Rama can come from anywhere and anytime to kill me.” Fear increased focus on Rama. Even though he was full of fear, Rama blessed him. Rama’s name blessed Maricha. We will hear the conversation between Maricha and Ravana as we move further in Sundarakanda chanting.
Hanuman says ‘There is no one like Rama’ this is his devotion for Rama. This is the reason why Sri Swamiji has ordered all of us to listen to and chant Sundarakanda for 5 days. Each day 13 chapters will be chanted. Why 13 chapters? The mantra ‘Sri Rama Jaya Rama Jaya Jaya Rama’ has 13 seed letters. In 13 chapter we hear the mantra:
namOstu rAmAya salakshmanAya
dhEvyai ca tasyai janakAtmajAyai I
namOstu rudrEndra yamAnilEbhyah
namOstu chandrArka marudganEbhyah II 13-60
Hanuman was really worried as He could not find Sita mata. He was searching but His efforts went in vain. He saw Mandodari – the virtuous wife of Ravana. She is one of the seven revered virtuous wife’s. For a moment Hanuman mistook her to be Sita mata en felt very happy and celebrated in his own style. But soon with adequate reasoning he thought – no, she cannot be Sita mata, because without Rama, Sita mata cannot be happy.
Rama is Rama and Sita is Sita. Both are inseparable, that is why they called Sita Rama.
Here Hanuman gives us a message to see Sri Rama or Sri Sitaramachandra Prabhu as Paramatma-Supreme soul.
In 13 chapter Hanuman was deeply disappointed for not being able to trace Sri Mata in Lanka. He prayed to all the gods and to Sri Sita Ramachandra. Then, tomorrow Hanuman will be able to see Ashoka Vana and find Sita mata. The Ahoka Vana was already there, but Hanuman’s mind was disappointed and sad so He could not see Ashoka Vana. Disappointed or sad minds can’t see a way through the problems. Hanuman faced this problem, but He found the solution to control his mind and goes into meditation and prayer. As a result he could see Ashoka Vana and find Sita mata. He sang about the virtuous of Sri Rama to win the confidence of Sita mata. He then wins the confidence of Sita mata and conveys the message of Sri Rama.
Tomorrow there is a wonderful session in Sundarakanda, because Hanuman is going to have Sita Mata Darshan.
Let us all join tomorrow evening. We had the wonderful darshan of Puyja Sri Swamiji. Now we will witness purnahuti and maha mangala arati to hanuman prabhu.
Those who can’t join the pundits in chanting Sundarakanda, you can focus and chant this mantra given by Sri Swamiji ‘Om Namo Hanumate Namaha’.
Sri Swamiji made sankalpa to chant Sundarakanda to help the world get rid of covid-19 and bless all the beings on the Earth with good health.
